Krul, Smith, Perch And Routledge All Start At Stevenage

Alan Pardew has made 4 changes to the side that hammered West Ham 5-0 on Wednesday night in the Premier League.

As expected goalkeeper Tim Krul replaces Steve Harper, but Pardew has also brought in Alan Smith, James Perch and Wayne Routledge at Broadhall Way.

Cheick Tiote has been rested with his tight hamstring, as we expected, while Jose Enrique and Jonas Gutierrez have not even made the subs bench.

Routledge and Barton will be the two wingers but does that mean that Joey Barton will be on the left wing today?

Newcastle will play in a 4-4-2 formation.

And good news already that Sunderland were beaten 2-1 at home by Notts County after Bent got a consolation after County were 2-0 up after 75 minutes.

The other breaking news is that Roy Hodgson has put out of his misery at Liverpool and former newcatsle manager Kenny Dalglish has been brought in at his former club.

And of course 12 years ago Kenny was the manager at Newcastle when we drew 1-1 before winning the replay back home 2-1.

But first things first and it would now be great if Newcastle can win today at Stevenage.

Tiote and Guthrie are on the bench for Newcastle along with youngsters Soderberg, Ranger, Kadar, Ferguson and Airey.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Stevenage (4-5-1): Day; Henry, Ashton, Roberts, Laird; Wilson, Mousinho, Bostwick, Long, Winn; Beardsley.
Subs: Bayes, Foster, Griffin, Obubade, May, Bridges, Sinclair.

Newcastle (4-4-2): Krul; Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Perch; Routledge, Nolan, Smith, Barton; Lovenkrands, Best.
Subs: Soderberg Guthrie Tiote Kadar Ranger Ferguson Airey.

I think he’ll want a good lead before introducing some young subs.

We need to stop the long ball stuff and knock it around the deck for a bit.

Thump I know what u mean mate, gotta support the team and that but booin Barton all the time, callin Nolan a northern b@Stard for a pitifully soft challenge I’ve never had a problem with people voicing their support but it just feels a bit hostile and pathetic
