The Text Messages Between Steve Wraith And Andy Carroll

I have been asked to put out the text messages sent between Andy Carroll and Steve Wraith over the last two days.

Andy Carroll – Liverpool striker

So here they are:

Sunday 30th January 14:37

SW: Are you leaving mate?

AC: I’m not going anywhere mate.

Monday 31st January 16:28

SW: Liverpool in for you mate. Any truth in that?

AC: Dunno what’s happening yet still mate. Thanks.

17:02

SW: Sky Sports say it’s a matter of time mate. What’s club said?

AC: they have kind of said we don’t want u but want me to say I wanna go. And I said I don’t want to go.

17:26

SW: Have you put in a transfer request?

AC: No I didn’t that’s what I mean that’s what they wanted me to do and I said no.

17:27

SW: So they want you to go?

AC: They said they wanted to accept it.

17:28

SW: So you have no choice?

AC: Looks like it.

17:31

SW: Your agent will be doing OK out of this. When you going?

AC: I don’t know mate. Gutted tho.

17:32

SW: Any message you want put across to the fans? I’m happy to do that for you mate.

AC: They said they wanted the money.

17:37

SW: Anything else?

AC: Gutted to be leaving Newcastle but I was kind of pushed out the door.

17:41

SW: That it?

AC: Just what i’ve just said really. Gutted to be leaving my home club but I was practically told to go. Didn’t want to leave that’s why i signed a 5 year deal.

17:47

SW: I will pass these onto the press lads I know.

AC: Sound mate.

17:56

SW: Can you give press lads a call to do an interview when deal done?

AC: I will yeah. I will speak to him later. Bit busy atm mate.

I think I’m going to be sick.

Here is Alan Pardew’s take on what happened yesterday and he says Andy wanted a news deal at Newcatsle and when it was refused he asked for a transfer.

    @Angryman

    If Enrique DOESN’T SIGN UP

    HE SHOULD BE SOLD

rather than to leave for a reduced price on Bosman.

The days of local heroes and fairytale football are over thanks to the Russians and Arabs of this world.

    Money $$$ talks.

newcastle29 – mate totally agree I can’t actually believe that either. This stinks of the Keegan scenario remember the bullshit you were fed then – “he wanted to sign Beckham, Ronadinho etc” all of which came out in court as bollox.

Wonder how long it takes before Carroll is in deep sh!t? No Nolan in Liverpool, just Gerrard and I wouldn’t call Gerrard a calming influence. I can just see Carroll and Gerrard having a night out together. Explosive…

£35m is an unbelievable deal for us. Assuming that we survive this year, im quite glad we didnt sign anyone last night and make some rash purchases and waste the money. We can bring in 4 or 5 quality players for that money in the summer, lets just hope it happens…

    Get a grip Ed.

It’s utterly irresponsible to demonise Ashley when you don’t have possession of the full facts. Whipping up hatred for the man is also out of order.
Carroll jumped ship because he wanted more money. I can accept that. Why can’t everyone else.
The badge kissing, the promises of never leaving – he’s hoodwinked everyone.
Time for a bit of realism.
And of course Harry Boy is going to have a pop. How miffed is he having lost the greedy bastard to Liverpool.
I’m really sick to death with all this moronic claptrap. Get the brain in gear and move on – jesus.

Can’t believe the horse sheizer on here. Bruce moaning about Bent leaving him in the lurch 10 DAYS AGO – 2 top forwards brought in. Nufc- nowt??

In the summer we will go sniffing around for damaged and injured goods that are out of contract again- the 35mil means nothing whatsoever to the supporters. It’s a figure to go down on the list of most expensive footballers in history .. where was the replacement?

I was following the events yesterday. We REJECTED two 30M plus offer during the DAY from Liverpool. If we really wanted to sell AC we could sold him for 30M and it will still be above valuation PLUS we can have several HOURS to find a replacement.

Why would we sell him for an extra Million or so in the LAST few hours that we have no time to find a replacement unless we’re forced to accept him wanting to go?

Pardew said he wanted to STAY but wants to sign a new contract that will match Liverpool’s wage offer. So who’s holding the gun?

Personally, I don’t care. He’s a pool player now. No point getting angry now. Have to wait to see till Summer to know Ashley’s motif, if he will spend or not. Speculating now if he will or will not is just a waste of time. Fulham tomorrow 3pts is all that matter.

Carroll is a big lad if he didn’t want to leave all he had to do was say NO I’m not going, and then talk to the local press. In the end they would have had to of forced him out. I don’t for one moment believe that someone made him sign the request.

Like most on here if I had the chance to play for the Toon you would have to beat me senseless with a cricket bat to get me to sign a transfer request.

He signed for the money, and why would Steves web site be used to speak to the fans, I run the geordies web site so I know which is the most popular site (Its this One) that gets the most clicks.

I would have understood if he just told us the truth the money was too much to turn down.

So Keegan, Hughton etc they are all in the wrong. Sometimes I actually think half the people on here deserve the dicking they are getting from Ashley because they are monumentally stupid.

SSN’s quote is nothing more than we have here, Carroll is trying to cover his back, he’s the real twat in all of this.

Ashley and Llambias certainly didn’t help the situation either but if Carroll was a true geordie he would’ve stayed and possibly requested to re-negotiate his deal in the summer, where he’d be in a better position to negotiate a deal after playing a full season in top-flight football.

Why are you all so determined to demonise Carroll more to the point? Does Ashley have you under some hypnotic spell?

He didn’t want to go, they pushed him. It’s FOOOOOKn obvious. He’s smiling cos he’s been told to by a team of advisers. What’s he gonna do wail and say he hates scousers? It’s showbiz folks.

Honestly, I don’t see anything wrong with NUFC’s transfer policy.

Ben Arfa, Tiote -> both GREAT deals at reasonable prices.

Carroll can fund 8 of such players.

And the funny thing is… He isn’t even that good.

At all you idiots thinking that Ashley asked him to put in a transfer request.

    Put your brains on.

For Carroll’s agent, this was the biggest deal of his LIFE. Just imagine getting 2 mil from this. INSTANT RICHES

He would be the one telling Carroll. U had better leave, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the biggest english transfer of all time at your age.

If he really had the club at heart, he could of declined, made it public he was being ‘forced out’, and on the back of that fury we would be now geared once and for all towards ousting Mike.

Carroll is no better than Mike, two-faced runt. I actually like Mike more for his resolute stance on wages. If we are in the prem at the end of the season (I’m convinced we have enough), we invest all that money and a little more in the summer, I’m happy.

Carroll is only guilty of gluttony, for this I don’t incriminate him. What I do find repulsive, is the false pride he attached to wearing the no9, for saying he would never leave. Never break a promise, people will hate you.

This maybe sounds like an aunties best mate story but feck it I’m saying it, Tiotes cousin came into to the shop I work in a couple of weeks ago, said Carroll had been offerred 5 mill money in pocket off Tottenham to join, he said Carroll was giving it serious consideration, now he’s went to Liverpool for a huge transfer fee, I believe both board and Carroll are happy with what theyve got its both their fault and they dont really give a sh8t about us

The first thing I thought when I woke up is how we entered the transfer market with 1 top striker and now have errrm none. Chelsea added 1, liverpool lost 1 and got 2 shiny new ones. Ashley pocketed a fortune, and we got left with errmmm less than we had, when we were already in desperate need of reinforcement.

These sums aren’t great for us supporters- in fact they are terrible. And yet you are all going on about ‘more time for ranger’, and ‘spending big in the summer’. I am lost for words and how so many have become doormats.

The club should have turned down Carroll’s transfer request, like Blackpool did with Adams.

He’d just signed a new contract in October, make him stick to it.

Then Pardew who’s been quoted as saying “Carroll is going nowhere”, “He’s the future of NUFC” wouldn’t lose credibility with the fans.

Ashley pulled the rug out from under Pardew.

If Pardew has any self-worth he’ll resign.

Pardew’s word means nothing now, like Ashley and Llambias who were shown by a tribunal to be liars.

Resign Pardew show Ashley there are still people in the game who have honour.
