    Tiote’s contract is understandable… what a buy he turned out to be! Definetly do not want to let him go cheap, if a club wants him they have to offer top dollar!

    Ferguson is also understandable – A complete shock at how easily he has adapted to the EPL at such a young age… confident on the ball, pacey and so far a clean player (i.e doesnt go to ground easy *cough* gutierrez *cough* hehe

    Danny’s Contract is the real shocker for me – His form has slipped and like gorskin said, most of the attacks come down from his side…

    My theory on Ashley’s Strategy (based on him being a Gambler)

    Is to buy young and produce Talent / Buy Early 20’s unproven talent for cheap in order to sell them in a couple of seasons for double their price (If they do not Flop)

    Buying Cabaye for 4.5mill? and if he does a tiote could get maybe 3x the value we bought him for?

    Its all about making a profit for Ashley imo. Needless to say, he will splash the dosh on these young talents in hopes they will bring back even more dosh for Ashley.

    If you know what i mean….

    Yeh lets sell a 12 goal midfielder captain who has got us where we are today. You wouldn’t even be posting on this blog right now speculating about what superstars to replace our current gems if nolan hadn’t scored his goals last season.
    Yous must be a bunch of teenagers.
    Believe me noaln will play most games next season and he will score around 10…trust me.

    Oh i understand the contracts just pointed it could rub it in with Barton.

    True and all you said is basically pointing out we are a “Buying and Selling club” which isnt good to see.
    My views a tad different, i believe that Ashley is

    * Replacing players who wont sign (Jose and maybe Nolan)
    * Replacing players who are getting older (Barton)
    *Replacing players who we got a great offer for (Carroll)

    If clubs offer crazy offers it will be accepted as every player has there price (Aguero 40M etc..)
    If a player is not signing contract extension, ship them out and buy a replacement with the cash from sold player.

    Barton is getting too old OR on too much money so we will sell him for 4/5M and get Cabaye his replacement costing the club very little and over the long term saving alot of money on wages, and there it is.

    Everything is “Cutting” costs and saving money the whole “Buying and Selling” method is how a club survives on NO MONEY like Benfica/Porto, He wants us to spend £0 on new players but use the money from Sales to fund them.

    But it doesnt surprise me Ashley is a tight sod, and is putting ALOT of pressure on Carr and his team to keep finding gems, this isnt ALWAYS going to happen we could waste it and this will harm the club massivlly

    Nolan needs too stay, I reckon he is the guy who keeps everyone level headed n the dressing room and that will be very important if we are buying “temperamental” French players

    Fair enough, just with all these foreign players we are rumoured with and lack of quality EPL proven players has lead me to believe that Ashley wants to keep a certain profit from the sales and @ a big risk for the club…

    For all we know we could be signing 4-5 Cheap Boumsongs… which would prove fatal to the club…

    Im hoping Ashley has enough brains to keep some EPL proven players that proved themselves last season, i.e Nolan, Barton, Colo etc… People that know how to battle it out in the Premier league..

    Dont get me wrong, im all for buying cheap Talented players on the cheap and still maintaining cash that could be used next transfer Window…. but i still want the Spine of the Newcastle club to stay… so that there isnt an air of uncertainty amongst the Fans and Players….

    Signing 4-5 internationals and releasing key players like Barton etc is not healthy imo…

    With Enrique likely to leave, our most experienced EPL players who are the most likely First team candidates may end up being Staylor and Colo, Jonas. With Ameobi “never Gonna leave” on the bench who have had more then one season in the Premier league…

    *(Left Nolan and Barton out of that List because they havent committed themselves to new contracts with the club yet, so anything can happen)

    Ben Arfa In my opinion is still not EPL proven even though he had a hell of a game against Everton, on top of that he has been out for ages

    Gosling has been out for ages aswell, and may take awhile to get back up to speed with the EPL

    At this rate the only players who have had atleast a Year of EPL experience in the team that are likely to make the first team are

    ~(New player)~Nolan?~(New Player)~~Jonas?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~(New Player)~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “?” beside the name means they may not start there due to new players
    “( )” Most likely a new foreign Player
    “[ ]” Only has a bit of EPL experience
    Hi fellow newcastle fans,
    I am concerned that our club has been linked with so many foreign talents, mostly from the french league.
    I am not doubting the ability of cabaye and the many names we have been linked with. I am just concerned that if we are to sign these players, and letting players like Barton go, we will have few players with PL experience.
    Even Christiano Ronaldo needed 1 season to get the hang of the PL before excelling. I am not saying all players need time to adapt. I am saying it will be risky to let our established PL players leave and replace them with new guys without PL experience.
    We need players like Barton who can put in good tackles like the one against Arsenal that got Diaby going mad (btw, that was a perfectly clean strong tackle). Our other players with PL experience are simply not good enough. I am referring to Alan Smith btw.
    Having said that, I can only pray that our club make wise signings for the future.
    My guess is Fat Ash is gambling on Barton and Nolan seeing out their contracts thus providing the cover for the incoming players. If they do go, then Pards is responsible for making sure they perform well in their 1st season. Either way, he wins.
    See him on twitter is gradually backing down on Gervinho just saying deals are in place which suggests nothing has being signed. All he might of done is give a verbal agreement which means nothing in football these days and someone better will get him then the excuse from the twitter shit stirrers is he went against his promise to try and save face.
    Tiote has been pure class when he has played.
    Nolan must stay as he is so influential to the team and pushing them on during a game and as someone else stated here that he has 12 goals.
    More than Strolla ans most other midfielders in the PL.
    Sell him?no chance
    Redmission bells
    Not according to half the bloggers on here!!
    The new signings are THAT GOOD, they will slope straight into the team!! Seamlessly, as if they have been here for years!!
    That always happens.
    However, the voices of reason, like myself and yourself are jumped upon and seen as ‘neggers’ who just want the club to fail….oh yes I have actually been told this on here more than once.
    Today I have woke up peed off and annoyed, as i have come into the office without my lunch!!
    Surely bringing in a load of French players will create a good team spirit as they are all coming in together and will help each other settle in. Pus they are all part of the new french set up
    Tiote Cabaye
    Menez Ben Arfa N’Zogbia
    Nolan scored tap ins from carroll’s knock downs, but has offered nothing since and his serious lack of pace and creativity kills us at times.Tiote has to run miles to cover in him in CM as Nolan just isn’t fit. I would keep Nolan to bring on if we are chasing a goal, but not as a starter if we get these other speed merchants in place.
    Similarly with Barton, he’s had one good half a season with Carroll here but is just too much of a looose cannon, saying he”s the greatest blah, blah, blah. it annoys me people saying he hasn’t been offered a contract . He’s been offered a very good one but just shorter than he wanted. These things are always negotiable at a later stage, but publically slagging off the hand that feeds you is lunacy. How is Barton a legend with one half a good season !!
    Barton had only 1 half of a decent season???
    What geps ye been wearing bonny lad??
    Apart from the fact that it has been well written/covered that these 2 players are the heart and soul of the dressing room!!
    Get a grip Mr. Its alright having an opinion but JEUS…….You are advocating getting rid of the heart and soul of our club and replacing them with players who you know NOTHING about!!
    I think the risk of signing foreign players is nullified by the fact we have had Carr scouting these guys for the last year or so. Ashley, llambias and arguably pardew know very little about football, but in Carr I trust.
    Like it did in the world cup with the 11 best French players in the world???
    Through the years, it has been well recognised that the french are notoriously hard to get in with…..and that includes between themselves!!!!
    Joey Barton
    Player of the season!! Say no more, voted in almost all fanzines/blogsites etc. Oh yes apart from this one, of course not saying this has anything to do with the fact that the Poll was announced the day after JB had is contract offer withdrawn!
    Nolan…..most influentials skipper we have had in the last 5 years or more. Scored goals consistently throughout the season.
    My problem with your post Rotonda, is only a short couple of weeks ago, you were one of the Fans advocating a New Contract for JB?? Were you not??
    Yet now, because of the unsubstantiated claims by a twatter, we have to ditch players, who at times have carried us through this season single handedly on occasions, to allow unproven foreigners to supposedly take us to a new level.
    Tahts a very dangerous tactic that mind Rotonda!!
    You really need to stop sitting on the fence and nail your colours to the mast matey…….
    Selling our best and most influential players and replacing with unproven players in the EPL……for me……WRONG!!
