There were some stories out earlier today, that Neil Taylor may have rejected a contract at Newcastle.
Neil Taylor – Newcastle offered him a 5 year deal
And the news going around, was that Everton may have moved in for the player and beaten Newcatsle to the 22 year old Welsh International.
Neil is now back in Swansea, but the Evening Chronicle is reporting this afternoon, that the inside information from the club is that the Newcastle deal is in fact still very close to completion.
It seems the deal is a long one – a five year deal – and inside sources at Newcastle are saying there is nothing untoward in the delay, and they still expect Neil to become a Newcastle United player.
The 22 year-old, who made massive improvements in his play last season at Swansea last season, will then have to fight it out for a position at left-back or on the left side of midfield in the Magpies’ first team next season.
That’s good news – and of the two stories doing the rounds today on Taylor – we hope this one is true.
Comments always welcome.

Comment #86Good luck Ed and hope you are back to full health soon fella!!
This transfer window has been awesome so far lads and its only just opened.
And for those moaing that we need a massive signing now give it a rest you morons!! The window has barely been open and i’d rather Carr and Pardew take a good look at players before signing them on impulse as that has damaged this team before.
I can’t believe we have the class of players we have so far all for the price of Nolan.
These next few weeks will be awesome!
I have full faith in Pardew, Carr and even Ashley to make our team a TOP 8 team next seaon at least!

Comment #99Matuidi and Erdinc has the same agent. And he has recently confirmed that both could join us. I’m not too sure about erdinc but Matuidi is fantastic business. Matuidi + Tiote in midfield is like having a brick wall.

Comment #101ilovetoon8788 its ok having a brick wall but if we havent got good movement in the ctr it doesnt work look at chelseathey tried it but it means the movement from back to front is too slow and it limits what you can doup top its only my opinion but i think one holding midfielder is enough in any team.

Comment #105Roz – Pre season traing not even started yet and majority of players still on holiday plenty time to buy be patient.
Whickham – £15m for a player who has played not many games in champ, no thanx far to much regardless of what we have as a budget.

Comment #113Drona (24)… we don’t really have a board as such, but I gave up on the regime a long time back – the net spend on dealings seems to be around £500,000 so far (though it accounts for about £15m if you take in to account the wages over the cousre of the contracts) so like KK I’ll be amazed if we spend anywhere near the AC fee on buying players…I think extreme caution should be applied in thinking we have turned some kind of corner…our debt has increased and we seem hellbent on dismantling all that was built up in the last 2 seasons. I’ll have a spare pitchfork for you in september!

Comment #118Course Chris was a nice bloke i was more sorry for us treating him like that when he got sacked he will always be a cult hero up in tyne got us where we belong and installed a belief that could of not been there when relegated.
Hope he can use him man managment on Birmingham.
On tactics etc.. he struggled but if he has help he will do well.
