Swansea Fail In Their Bid To Sign Newcastle Winger

It seems that Swansea City have failed in their bid to sign Newcastle right winger Wayne Routledge.

Wayne Routledge – couldn’t agree terms with Swansea

Swansea had agreed a £1.7M fee  with Newcastle  for Wayne, but it seems they could not agree terms with the player himself, and they have now turned their attentions to Middlesbrough’s Leroy Lita and Marvin Emnes.

Wayne is currently on the Newcastle Reserve tour in Holland, but a number of clubs are still interested in him,  and over the weekend there was news that Wigan Athletic could want him as a potential replacement for Charles N’Zogbia.

And some Championship clubs still interested in Wayne include Leicester City, Cardiff City,  and possibly Nottingham Forest,

And it could be that Wigan have now agreed a £9.5M fee with Wigan for the French International winger, but they will now have to agree terms with the player.

We’re not too sure if N’Zogbia wants to move to Villa, but one thing that’s certain is that Newcastle are out of the running, and that’s because they deemed the fee Wigan are asking for Charles to be too much.

But we sold him for about £7M to Wigan two years ago last January, and the lad has improved since then.

Go figure that one out.

Comments welcome.

If we give Wigan Routledge PLUS 7m to exchange N’Zogbia, is it only me want to do the business?

    BTW, 1st! 🙂

Haha, I am glad he has not gone to Swansea after they screwed us with that left back!! TBH we would be better off keeping him for back up

unless we sign another RW we could really do with keeping him as backup as we currently don’t even have a natural RW

yes he won’t go till he gets that loyalty pay-off.
Surely that didn’t exist before if another club signed you.
Barton made us pay it at city so I guess Routledge will do the same.

I don’t know if this was on the previous thread but why is Enrique fined and not Barton for going on twitter and openly bad mothing your employers?

If Wigan really are after Routy then I think it’s about time we hi-jacked the N’Zogbia deal, He hasn’t signed yet!

Come on buy Zog and show some ambition.

This bargain basement transfer policy really isn’t fair on season-ticket holders.

Many struggle to meet the monthly direct-debits and they deserve to see the club investing money in a bit of quality.

I sure hope we’ll sign another RW. Routledge obviously wants more cash, that’s all. I’m glad that Swansea can’t get him, because of the “Taylor case”. 😀

Why are we getting linked with Crouch? Totally wrong type of player for our new style of play, Papers are so full of it!

Funny how we don’t wanna pay 9.5mil for a player we bid 12mil for 6 months ago

It wasn’t a genuine bid … there was never time for the deal to be done.

Ashley wanted an excuse to phone Whelan to brag about the 35M he’d just got.

12 mil bid in Jan didn’t even happen, it was just a press release to get the fans thinking that we tried to get someone in before the window slammed shut. Remember the club is full of proven liars!

    Crouch is 30.

9M with no resale value … not going to happen. Thankfully.

    Zog is worth 9.5M.
Whoever buys him gets a great attacking winger coming to his peak …

£9M for crouch, I would rather go for £9.5M Hugo Rodallega

Depressing transfer targets again (moan, moan, moan, whatever I am just stating fact)

Looks the Ernic deal is flapping again, and we are goin to have another season with Strolla, Best And Lovenkrands up front.

Anyone else find it weird that we seem willing to sell Best, but not Loverkrands or Strolla?

Best is the only one who’ll fetch any money.

Strolla’s an old crock and Lovenkrands is just old.

£9m for crouch I would rather buy Hitler’s bones at least it would give Ashley a friend and he might leave us alone.
