Newcastle Could Bring Federico Macheda In On Loan

We knew that a few weeks ago, there were reports that Alex Ferguson had offered Newcastle’s Alan Pardew, Manchester United striker Federico Macheda as a loan deal.

Federico Macheda – option on season long loan

But there’s news today that Newcastle are back in for Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga, but that depends on Sochaux bringing in a suitable replacement, and they are in advanced talks with Leeds United’s Max Gradel.

We have to hope that both those deals go through, and we think Modibo would be a great acquisition for Newcastle.  But if that doesn’t go through Newcastle may well go for the Italian U21 International striker, on a season long loan.

Macheda was signed by Manchester United in September of 2007, shortly after his 16th birthday, and his family relocated to England with him.

Macheda has played 27 times for the Manchester United first team and scored 4 goals, and we suppose if Newcastle cannot get Maiga, then Frederico would be a decent acquisition on loan for the season, to bolster Newcastle’s attacking options.

As you would expect, Newcastle are making no official comments on any of their transfer dealings, but if the news today is to be believed,  then Newcastle are giving Davide Santon of Inter-Milan a medical, having agreed a fee with the Italian club and terms with the player.

And a surprise to us is that Newcastle seem about to announce the acquisition of  25 year-old Charlton goalkeeper Rob Elliot, as Newcastle’s third senior goalkeeper, and we have to assume Pardew wants a third experienced goalkeeper in for the season.

But that cannot be too encouraging for 20 year-old goalkeeper Ole Soderberg at Newcastle.

Davide Santon is right footed and can play on either side, and even started his career as a winger, so there’s  still a chance – a hope really – that Newcastle could also sign either Erik Pieters or Aly Cissokho, with Danny Simpson rumored to be delaying on signing a new long term contract at Newcastle.

But things are starting to look up a little on Tyneside,  and certainly it seems Santon will sign soon, assuming he passes his medical.

Comments welcome.

We shouldn’t be surprised that Newcastle are bringing in a third experienced goalkeeper, because Tim Krul is playing very well. And we all know what MA does with young players who start playing really very well.

Is it too much to ask for:
    Santon 5m
    Maiga 7m
    Macheda Loan
    Van Aanholt Loan
    Rob Elliot
    Yung Hungry and Affordable

A BIG NO TO MACHEDA, unless there is an option to buy, if not, Fergie can piss off.

My info is that Macheda is the man – on loan! No time to do the Maiga deal – fee not agreed and work permit would be needed. Situ deal on hold because the fatman won’t agree to sell-on clause. These f-ckers want everything when they sell, but expect other clubs to give their players away for bu-ger all.

No I don’t want this player. He scored a beautiful goal a couple of seasons ago, but after that he has never impressed. We have got better options at our club. Last year he was loaned out to Italy and did anybody hear of him?

    Hope for:
    – Santon
    – Roux (prefer him above Maiga, tho’ I’ve never seen him play to be honnest)
    – surprise signing

Macheda would be a good aquisition for us, he’s got the pace and the drive we’ve been looking for, Ok, he’s not the complete article, he needs some polishing and is still slightly raw, but he’s got bags of pace and potential and will get the game time he needs with us.

I think he’ll thrive at Newcastle as he’ll be eager to impress Fergie and make his mark on the premier league. He won’t be the 15+ goal machine we eally need (I doubt it anyway) but if he can hit form, Best can find some consistency and Ba can get back in the goals then we’re looking a lot healthier than we were a few weeks ago in the striker depeartment.

Maiga or Roux would be a more than welcome addition but I don’t see it happening.

Macheda is not a good signing for us for the simple reason the deal has NO OPTION TO BUY.

I think amongst all this, we need to give credit to Pardew for pursuing the types of players he wants, given financial restrictions. AsSimon Bird has pointed out, he’s a quality coach, and deserves far more respect from some of the tools on this site. Can u imagine Souness Hughton Roeder etc working under this pressure, getting results, and openly trying to change how we play the game? The guy has more talent, game focus, tactical nous and a willingness to learn which is far greater than any of those. Except for Joe Kinnear, who was class, obviously 🙂

ranger is finished the club will try to sell him to blackpool before he goes to jail for assault. What a waste of a life, beggars belief when you think what most youngsters would give to be in his position.

WHATS GOING ON WITH THE BOARD AND MIKE ASHLEY ? THE CLUB HAS GOT 50 MILLION TO SPEND AFTER THE SALE OF Routledge Jose Enrique KEVIN NOLAN AND THE SALE OF ANDY CARROL OK THE CLUB CAN KEEP 10 MILLION THE CLUB HAS JUST BROUGHT IN TWO PLAYERS FOR 8 MILLION AND THREE FREE TRANSFERS.SO THE FOOTBALL CLUB STILL NEEDS TO SPEND 32 MILLION.

AND WHY IS THE CLUB LET ONE OUR BEST PLAYERS GO IN DEFENCE.ALAN PAR DEW IS A YES MAN AS WELL HE DOES WHAT EVER THE BOARD AND MIKE ASHLEY TELLS HIM TO SAY ABOUT PLAYERS ALL THE AT THE TIME.

CUSS YOU KNOW ITS ALL LIES HE IS SAYING ABOUT THE PLAYERS LIKE NOLAN AND THE OTHER 1 GOOD PLAYER WE HAVE IN DEFENCE ABOUT IE THERE CONTRACTS WAGES ITS JUST A COVER UP MIKE ASHLEY CUSS WE THE FOOTBALL CLUB IS A SELLING AND MIKE ASHLEY IS BLEEEDING US FANS AND THE FOOTBALL CLUB OF PLAYERS DRY .

CUSS WE ARE TOTALLY TURNING INTO A SELLING CLUB LIKE THE TIMES HAS SAID.UNLESS THE MONEY IS NOT PUT BACK INTO THE CLUB THOUGH PLAYERS AND THE YOUTH SET UP MORE WE ARE NOT GOING DO VERY WELL THIS SESSION.

OR IN THE FUTURE THATS WHY I FEEL THE FOOTBALL CLUB NEEDS A TOTAL STRONG 22 SQUAD AND WE NEED 3 WORLD CLASS DEFENDERS 6 IF Jose Enrique GOES AND NOW HE HAS SELL Michael Williamson. WE NEED A WORLD CLASS STRIKER SELL SHOLA AMEOBI KEEP THE OTHER 3 AND LOAN RANGER OUT.

IF THE MONEY DOES GET SPENT WHAT I SAY I BY THE TIME THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS ALL US REAL NEWCASTLE UTD FANS SHOULD GET MIKE ASHLEY OUT HOW YOU ASK THOUGH A FACEBOOK ACTION GROUP, DONT BUY ANY SESSION TICKETS OR TICKETS TO WATCH THEM PLAY.

DONT SPEND ANY MONEY THE FOOTBALL CLUB IE CLUB SHOP’ SHEARES BAR’ STADIUM TOURS ETC SPORTS DIRECT WEB SITES HIT HIM WERE IT HURTS THE POCKET REMEMBER HE IS A BUSINESS MAN.

LETS ALL UNITE ON THIS WE NEED AT LEAST HALF OF THE STADIUMS SUPPORT ON THIS ITS PEOPLE POWER REMEMBER THAT MOVE AS A TEAM NEVER MOVE ALONE. BUTS LETS SEE IF MIKE ASHLEY STICKS TO HIS WORD IN WHAT HE SAID AFTER THE CLUB SOLD ANDY CARROLL AND THE MONEY TO SIGN NEW PLAYERS BUT LETS WENT AND SEE.

AT THE END OF THIS TRANSFER WINDOW ? NOT MANY DAYS LEFT AND COUNTING.
