Tiote – I Love Newcastle And Enjoy Life Here

Cheick Tiote has again told anybody who will listen,  that he only wants to stay with Newcastle United for his football future.

Cheick Tiote – I love Newcastle – can you hear me?

This is not the first time Cheick has said he loves life at Newcastle,  but there are still a number of clubs thought to be ready to put in a  bid for him next month.

And they include top clubs Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, none of which are particularly short of money.

Newcastle signed Tiote from FC Twente in the summer of last year for just £3.5M, after Chief Scout Graham Carr had followed the player, from his time playing in Belgium football at Anderlecht.

The 25-year-old, who has played for Newcastle 39 times with one stupendous goal against Arsenal last February, has admitted the lure of Champions League football is tempting.

But he doesn’t think his departure from St. James’ Park is imminent, and that’s what’s been reported in the papers for several months now.

Tiote talked to Sky Sports News:

“I am flattered by clubs interested but there is nothing official.”  “When teams such as Chelsea, City, Liverpool, United are interested in you it makes you think twice.”

“But I love Newcastle, I belong to Newcastle and I enjoy my life here.”

Newcastle signed their star midfielder to a six and a half year contract in early February, after Chelsea had reportedly come in for him on the very last day of the January transfer window, when Andy Carroll was sold to Liverpool for £35M.

The only way Newcastle will sell the Ivorian, is if a silly offer comes in for the defensive midfielder – something like £25M in cash may do it – and Liverpool are interested, so anything is possible.

We’d like to see Cheick still at the club on February 1st, so he can help Newcastle get back into the European Champions League, where they were when the great Bobby Robson was managing the club.

As far as we are concerned he belongs at Newcastle and should stay on Tyneside.

Tiote has lost the discipline he needs to play the holding role and was running round like a headless chicken v WBA but that isn’t typical of him. On a six year deal we have no need to sell though. If a Carrollesque bid of 35m+ came in we’d be mad to turn it down though!

tiote will find his feet again he was the same after he came back earlier in the season, and all the transfer talk has got to be putting his mind elswhere apart from the jobin hand which is to boss midfield. he will get back to his best though.

Yes it is worrying that if Tiote has to be out for a spell it takes a while for him to get back to speed. Perhaps he was trying to do too much last night in Cabaye’s absence?
