Proud Pardew – The Newcastle Fans Give Us The Power

You just have to watch the interviews Alan Pardew gave after yesterday’s great 2-0  win at Bolton,  and you can see how much he seems to love the Newcastle fans and being the Magpies’ manager.

Alan Pardew – delighted for Newcastle fans yesterday

And there was a great shot of him at the end of the game with Ben Arfa, which we are showing above,  as he waves and claps to the over 4,000 Newcastle fans who made the trip to Bolton yesterday, and were rewarded with a win for the first time in seven games.

Newcastle United are known throughout the world for their fantastic and passionate support, and that was again in full evidence yesterday.

And those of you who are reading this and make these trips to support the lads, be clear that you make a huge difference to the players and the team.

It turns out that  Alan Pardew told his players  that they couldn’t let the fans down at the Reebok Stadium, and they didn’t,  and there were a number of heroes for the Magpies in yesterday’s game:

  • Tim Krul made another world class save from Martin Petrov when it was 0-0 late in the first half
  • Gabriel Obertan showed why he can still become a great right winger for Newcastle with some time
  • Ben Arfa came on after 61 minutes and completely changed the game in Newcastle’s favor,  and scored the all important first goal
  • Coloccini had another top class match at the back and another captain’s performance from the Argentine
  • Mike Williamson looked like he had never been away,  even though that was his first game back for over four months

And it was great to see all the Newcastle players  go to applaud the Newcastle fans at the final whistle, and the lads had finally broken their six game streak without a win.

This is what a proud Alan Pardew said today to the local press:

“I have said we are a big club, and I told our players we had to play like a big club,”

“When you see 4,000 fans at that end, it shows you why we are Newcastle United. It gives us the power.”

“Good teams can deliver on cue. We needed a win and to get out of the rut, and we’ve done that. We were more disciplined, and we got a thoroughly deserved win.”

The transfer season will be starting next Sunday, but Pardew refused to even  talk about that to the local press today.

Alan was  still basking in the glow of being the Newcastle United manager after another league win, the eighth of the  season.

And who can blame him?

It’s never been easy supporting Newcastle,  but wins like this make it more than worthwhile.

Howay The Lads!!

I worry that if we keep a clean sheet against liverpool next friday with willo back, mike will decide we don’t need another CB!

None of us really know what we’re talking about, but all comments are welcome and the best thing about this site is the passion that always comes out, we rarely agree with each other but we all agree that our passion is NUFC

haha yeah sorry for the essay, just had a lot to say

@ToonDownSouth, I agree the board did impact on the quality and depth of the team in many departments but you could question that Perch is on the same level as many of those 3rd choice defenders for Norwich, QPR etc

I get everyones frustration with Ashley and purchasing players but Pardew does impact in a way.

Look at Kadar, big wraps about him yet didnt eve have a squad number at the start of the season nor was he pushed or spoken about. Maybe theres something else to the story, only Pardew and Kadar know

If any striker is signed he’s gonna have to hit the ground running, especially as it is january, were being hopefull if that is case.
I’m actually hoping for shola to have his 3/4 game run of form he seems to turn out every season at some point. Hopefully he will get a few.
Shola up top alone with Ben arfa when shola is on from would be a wild card partnership imo.

To the ealier comment about vuckic not being anywhere near ben arfa, I see a developed vuckic being a different player to the soon to be complete ben arfa.
If vuckic can steel himself up defensively just slightly he would remind me of a player like ballack was in his prime.
Great shot and an eye for the killer pass.
Ben arfa is more about skinning players, quick touches, but he’s obviously got great shooting technique also. Vuckic could sit behind arfa.

Olivier Giroud would be the striker I’d like to see us sign, he’s been linked with us recently and fits the transfer policy that we have

maybe benny shouldn’t play a whole game yet and ease back in more and more every game, in which case Vuksic should take best’s place as playing best just makes us hoof it all day long and we’re better than that as that first hour was the worst I’ve seen us play against a really bad team.
Despite raylor’s assist, Bolton had no speedy right winger and Bellamy will be a handful, so santon back in for me.

This transfer window will give us an idea how ashely views NUFC if he invests then he sees us as a long term commitment if he doesnt invest then hes taking the P#SS!

JackButler .. agreed Olivier Giroud looks a great pplayer .. him and vertonghen and Cissokho would show we plan on being top 6 .. realistically its gonna be 1 of the three.. rather its Giroud as Ba is away for 6 games so we need a striker who can play a bit..

@sweendog…….For me Giroud and Vertonghen in through the door with no one of importance going out would be a dream transfer window

@planb……. agree mate, this window will tell us all we need to know about Ashley’s commitment to our club. People will look at the sale of Carrol, but that was a freak deal, there is no club that would have turned down 35mil, offer Sir Alex 35mil for Welbeck and see how quickly he’d help the lad pack his bags

JackButler i totally agree about the Carroll transfer but that only makes sense if the 35million is re-invested in the playing staff we only have a small squad of players and a handful of top players thats why it makes sense to bring in some more experienced players and consolidate our present top 7 position

    first of all..
Tioté and Demba Ba are not off to ACN up to 6 games!
    It´s 3-5!
    QPR (h)
    Fulham (a)
    Blackburn (a)
Villa (h) if they go to semi finals
Spurs (a) if they go all the way to the final

Giroud, Luuk De Jong, Erdinc etc… Forget it!
Pardew plays Shola and Best because they are then ready to try and take over for the few games we dont have Ba.
No striker will enter in january!
    A CB is coming in..
Douglas or who ever is coming, is better than Perch, so any CB is welcome ;o)
Then we will have three CB´s again!
If Tioté is sold, the cash is only going to be put into the clubs books!
We have qualified players at center midfield postions.
Cabaye, Guthrie, Gosling, Abeid and Vuckic!

The 5 year plan looks very very good!
1 st year: promotion to premier league.. check!
2nd year: stay in the premier league.. check!
    3rd year: top 10 finish..looks good!
    4th year: qualify for europe
5th year: top 4 in the premier league!

    And underway..
    – get the club to run financialy, so no money is spend, before it is earned..
    – building a sound youth academy together with the fact that the scouting is more important than buying old greedy players.
    etc etc…
    looks great!

If you look outside the top 4 we are more than capable of beating any of the rest its just when we get the odd injury that we struggle then there’s the African cup which will further weaken the squad and i dont like the look of Shola heskey and leon best as an attacking option to keep us in the hunt!

the sale of big players is part of the game, this i have no issue with, if someone wants to pay 25mil for Tiote then thats ok as long as the 25 mil is then reinvested into the team/squad. With the 35mill from the Carrol sale we could have plugged all the gaps in our squad and had the strength in depth that we are missing right now. With out Ba I worry where the goals will come from and if Willo or Colo pick up an injury we could go into free fall.
Ashley can win over a lot of people during this window if he shows his commitment to OUR club and not to his wallet

Well, how can i tell you that without creating a serious diplomatic incident…

Louis Nicollin (Montpellier’s president) said this:

“Giroud to leave for Newcastle? Well, for a club like Arsenal, i would understand…
But for this club of s***!”

He added the player price is far above 10 millions euros.
