Every time I say that you say something to catch my eye haha

Those two will never accept defeat mate. You could give them cold, hard evidence signed by Ashley themselves and they’d still be sucking him off.

Sorry solano, you are wrong. We were firm challengers with cole in the team but we withered out in the 2nd half of the season and finished third I think. I argued for the purchase of shearer at the time so ive learnt. And yes the shearer ferdiinand partnership was fantastic but then the owners sold ferdinand so your argument is a bit mute. Ferdinand was at his best when we sold him.

Would love to see a good straight forward winger at the club like matt jarvis of wolves, he is no nonsense beats players puts great balls in to the box, good footballing brain also not like obertan with his stop and start technique and jonas is to stop and start as well we need a lad like that in my opinion, the dutch lad vertoghen will do and one other would be ok maybe ridgwell anice freebie like BA would be nice (if only)

Thump that was class, ashley pro or against the table and results don’t lie we are better than we was last year in a league which is gettin harder so they must be doing something right?? We have a budget like 18 other prem teams we need cb and ideally another fb but we have enough strikers to get bye in my opinon

Thump…if I let people repeat historical lies so often then good chaps (like yourself) may well start to believe them. What Achtoon wrote was utter rhubarb and KingKev has written a far more accurate account of all the comings and goings and his Shearer myth has been put to bed as well.
It’s such an obvious point to make but…the role of the professional footballer is a transitory one and of course we have sold many in the past – the point is we are not re-investing the takings and are selling before we have seen the full potential of the player on the field. Therefore, we are a feeder club. QED- quod erat demonstrandum. Good night!

Thump- I think you need to take a step down off your high horse. I couldn’t care a less who or what you write for, I really couldn’t.

Barton was ineffective after January? Wasnt he player of the season? Remember Arsenal 4-4? Nolan had a barren spell when AC left so that made him finished without a big man? Rubbish. Look back at all of his goals, how many did AC actually nod down to him? Nolan found space and could finish. He scored more in 3 years than Best, Shola and Lovenkrands combined.

Obertan cannot be compared to Barton.

Didn’t DL say NUFC must be self sufficient? In my book that says we must sell to survive. Do you not think that we will sell our best players over the next few years!? Or will you just blame the players for leaving us?

No mate, no tonight, just getting tired of the same arguments all the time.
The truth is no one on here knows what goes on regarding the financial side of the club and no one at the club ever tells us anything, so all the arguments are based on individual opinion and what people want to believe.
For me I still live in hope that Ashley knows what he’s doing but there are some on here who will never be happy, no matter what happens and no matter who the owner is

Achtoon…for God sake, the only time we were ever realistic challengers to WIN the league was AFTER Cole and BEFORE Shearer! Come on, I was there. Attended every bloody game. Buy the video. Read a book. Talk to a former player. Anything but don’t re-write history to suit the muppets in charge now – you should be better than that!

Eaststand…welcome….in the absence of ambition and January purchases, we are having a history lesson. Achtoon is going to explain how the Germans won the Battle of Hastings with the Duke of Wellington eating a sandwich.

Just out of interest – What would have to happen during the January Transfer Window for it to constitute as a success?

JB.. a good January would be to retain all of our best players (ie Krul, Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas and Ba). I am more than willing to have some horse trading but the net result must be- if it is to be deemed a successful window- we have more bodies (net) than we had when we started January and we have found an appropriate striker, another fullback and a top class centrehalf. That we may be able to overtake Swansea in the net spend table over the last 4 years! Is that being unreasonable?

JB we have to buy simple as that pards knows this and im sure he tells them but they wont have any of it and if anyone goes it must be the sh1t that should go and keep our top boys

@Solano – No mate your not be unreasonable, but giving the way the previous windows have gone it’s unrealistic to expect anything of note happening.
I think we will sign a centre half though if the fee tops 6mil I’ll be amazed.
Regarding keeping our best players, that’ll all depend on how much is offered, something that people seem to forget is that Ashley turned down 20mil + for Carrol from Spurs.
But your right, it’s a merry-go-round that is sickening to watch

JB…I actually jumped off the ride in 2008, mate…..the reason I still care is I’m seeing the club I still love being torn apart from within by liars and conmen. The fans, many of them my mates, are arguing over trivialities because they refuse to see what is plain to nearly all football fans, journalists, ex players, ex managers right across the country.

I think not getting a striker in Jan. would leave us like we are now with the CB’s. Hopefully Pardew’s statement is a ploy.

We also need to remember that it is not how much we spend but the quality we get. This summer is a perfect example.

Remember back in August when the club sold their season ticket initiative by floating the idea that the money would go to our transfer war chest in January? Remember?
Pardew has actually adopted black humour in dealing with the press now…note his little quip in the vid above… “at least you have money” !!! The cash has gone…again.

Well would you believe it a little bit of negative rumour and who crawls out of the woodwork but miffed man the somewhat irritated fan he’s in like a shot at no. 61.

God you are a dour tosspot, I hope you gave the family a chance at xmas and left the house, it can’t be fun in your house when your around.

It’s a wonder you have not gone on about relegation yet.

    kingkev9 @ # 65

I am quite happy with the way the club is going at the moment, financially the club is in good order they are well placed in the league and heading for a place improvement on last season if all goes well then we will probably be in a position to pay some of the personal loans from MA and still have a little to invest. Not a lot of clubs in the prem can claim that they are financially sound playing well with hopes of improvement and possibly in a position to pay back heir owner some of their outlay.

Or would you rather we were forking out stupid money on big named has beens like we used to do and running deeper and deeper in debt?

team for me when Ba and Tiote go:

    Krul
    Simpson – Willo/JV – Colo – Santon
    Oba – Cabaye – Jonas
    HBA – Vuckic
    Best/Sammy

Reckon sammy could do with some game time and HBA could help him

Don’t see how Andy Carroll’s transfer had any great knock-on effect to last January’s transfer market as Mashley stuffed the whole lot into his trouser pocket. It could hardly have had less of a knock-on effect as the Chelski roubles stopped dead at the Mashley moneybelt..
Unless Pards means there was a knock-on effect at the casino???

I don’t blame PA for this one as managers would all love to have more options and I am sure he is no different. The tight basxxxd should take the blame, he and Lamb have no ambitions, at least not with us.
