Llambias Explains How Transfers Completed At Newcastle

Derek LLambias has said today that Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew just loves it on Tyneside.

Derek LLambias – explains how we do transfers these days

And any clubs interested in trying to get Alan as manager will be wasting their time,  because Alan is fully involved in Newcastle’s project which is quickly reaping benefits, and the side are now 6th top of the Premier League.

Alan Pardew is currently into his first full season in charge of Newcastle, and LLambias expects the manager  to fulfill his five and a half year contract through the summer of 2016.

This is what Derek Llambias told the local press and he explained how Newcastle do their transfer business:

“In reality, Alan will be here a few years. He’s comfortable and he likes it here.” “It’s an amazing city with an amazing fanbase, and he appreciates that.”

“Alan wants a trophy, and if we don’t get one by the end of five years he will be unhappy.”   “We have to recruit what we can afford and between the manager and the chief scout have done a very good job.”

“Long may it continue. Those deals take a long time, Papiss was over a year, we don’t knee-jerk.”  “If we don’t get the player we want in January we’ll go for the No 2 but more often than not –  the deal is difficult.”

“So we have to wait for the next one and we start again.”  When you spend months doing a deal it can be quite a process.”  “At the end of the day I pick up the phone, ask John Irving, the club accountant,  if we have the money in the bank?”

“And he might say ‘absolutely not’.”  “Then I just carrying on asking ‘Have you got any money in there at all?’”  “We do it that way and it works.”  “It’s a recipe for going forward and we’ll continue to do that.”

“We’re out there looking for players that want to come here.”  “When we play good football and the league position is good it attracts good players.”  “It’s not as if they are thinking ‘They’re down there, we’re not interested’.”

“But when they are thinking ‘They might be in Europe, they’ve signed Coloccini, Tiote and Cabaye,’ there is a nice little feel that encourages other players.”

We’re sure Newcastle have all their transfer targets lined up in the summer, and news today that Mike Ashley has already given his okay for a money move for a player in the summer – maybe that’s Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet for around £4M?

In any case we feel that this summer could be a bumper one for Newcastle, with 12 Development players leaving the club,  and lots of youngsters presumably also being brought to Tyneside.

Look at Liverpool. They go Standard Chartered for £17million and then Warrior for £25million, that’s £32million for shirt and sponsorship. Ours is £5million for both – and we need to compete against them.

“It’s a different league they live in.”

This is key factor for me.

Look atthose numbers, The sooner we get more sponsorship money the better. Its Key lads.

WAKE UP its 2012, it will always be SJP ive been goin there since 1970 but, its a different world these days.

If we want to compete with the top table we need more money.

    SPOT ON

You would think that the Chief Exec would know what we have in the bank?

I hope its Corgnet, I have a feeling it may be a CB though.

Even if we only get Coprgnet and Douglas in the summer

I thinks its a success if nobody leaves.

No big players leave I mean.

    Smith etc can all go.

Sad about Lovenkrnds injury s well. He was always leaving in the summer, but I have a lot of time for him, hes a great guy, ive met him nd hes genuinely really nice, and he puts 110% in every time he plays woudl have liked to have seen him get a final few appearances.

    Best of luck Peter

    I think this will Happen:

    Ins:
    Douglas Free
    Amaflatinanontinonann Free
    Corgnet 4.5 mil
    Young Striker
Some youth players from continent (Abeid esq)

    Outs:
    Smith
    Loven
    Guthrie
    Youth Players

Im afraid 1 bid name will go, I think Guthrie will go althugh id like to keep him personally

Colo…looks good. I would imagine that to be more or less correct, but expect more “unknown” action to occur. Whether that’s incoming, outgoing or both I have not a clue

    Yeah I agree,

We will get the usual dreamers on here saying we should sign x y annd z (all good players mind 😉 )
But in reality we wont be buying lots of players, we will fill needs like CB and CM cover, and then pick up bargains perhaps. Like last summer, We signed Cabaye for cash then got Ba and Marv for nowt.

i think the young striker will be an unknown probs as well or someone on a free,

It wont be De jong etc, lets be real. If a big name goes, then so be it, onwards and upwards

And itll be Pieters OR Douglas ihmo not both, but im fine with that. I trust them like I say.

    Before I get shouted down,

yes i appreciate we may need more cover and if we reach Europe then that need grows.

But lets all accept, we will buy smart and not pay over the odds for the sake of an extra body. I agree wholheartedly.

Awaiting attacks for about 3 usual posters.

Colo pretty sure since we will probably get in Europe then we would spend more than £4.5m on 1 player and last years we have spend £12m and £22m. So i think
    Henderson £500k
    M’Bwia £5m
    Douglaus Free
    Pieters £3m
    Corgnet £4.5m
    Drenthe on a free
    Rodiquez £3m
    £16m
