Alan Pardew – very proud
Here’s the BBC interview with Alan Pardew – where he says Newcastle could have had four goals today.
Alan praised the performances of Williamson and Perch at the back, and Mike W went close with two headers today and hit the post in the first half, and it was Newcastle’s 12th clean sheet of the season.
James Perch continued to show he may be pushing for a regular first team place at Newcastle – he was simply great today!

Comment #3U know what, it’s not beyond me to have Perch partner Willo when Collo returns if he puts in performances like this.
Howay the lads.
Oh the win was sweet, but the way we absolutely humiliated and frustrated Liverpool is even sweeter than the win for me.
And we held the 0 against Suarez, Bellamy and Carroll.
Oh, Steven Gerrard, who is he again?

Comment #4I’m sorry, to have Perch partner Collo…
However, a decent display from Willo today, hopefully his form is on the up again.

Pace isn’t the only quality we’d need in an AMF – vision, distribution, tackling, positioning etc., I reckon Gosling has a decent footballing brain and is worth at least another season

If Willo ups his game then I’ll rethink about his role in the team as I’ve been pretty critical of him. Still not convinced he’s top 4 quality and that is where we are headed..

Comment #8Fair point MFH – I’m not desperate to get rid of him. But he’s not impressed in the chances he’s had, which to be fair have been few and far between.
Still like to see us being another CM in, along with a CB, FB and CF.

Pards is afraid to say that we are in it for the CL spot. But I like that. He doesn’t pressure the players. IF we will get there, fine, but that is not the goal. great interview.
Was it a hand by Simpson? It was like a top arm/shoulder thing, no?

Comment #10But pace is one of the most important attributes in the PL – we have it in spades now and look at the difference. Barton and Nolan were too slow.

Most of us have mate, but i’ve been adamant it’s due to confidence issues. And a MOTM prize from BBC/Sky, whoever deals it, will certainly help his confidence, and in turn, hopefully we’ll see the Willo we saw after his comeback this season and last season.
We know he can do better.

If i was the ref and i saw that, i’d give the penalty. The ball hits his biceps and he activly tries to push it out by straightning his elbow.
But HBA didn’t get a pen either, so there’s no complaints from either end.

Comment #16just as i log on to talk about the team i support the swans scored.
well what i was going to say was in some ways i am happier about finishing above liverpool than above the scummies. as for pardew if he continues this into next season and gets a champions league spot over the next 3-5 year he deserve to get added to the list of great newcastle managers after the state we were in when he first arrived that doesn’t mean to say hughton didn’t help start it off with promotion. also his interviews get better every week esspecially when it comes to questioning over champions league spot and holding onto players

Oh i think that’s up for discussion 😛
Enrique was pulling quite allot in front of HBAs shirt, if u ask me he’s hindering HBAs run to the byline.
HBAs fall can be questioned, it may be that HBA opted to take the dive, but the ref couldn’t see Jose pulling the shirt.
I dunno, it’s quite blatant the holding, but it’s covered by the two players themselfes, the ref stands behind so he’s got no chance of seeing it.

Comment #26The reason I was gutted for Reina sending off is because he will missed Liverpool vs Everton game FA Cup match…. Comment #35Champion’s League crack is hopeless – we’re nailed on for either 5th or 6th, as are Chelski, barring unfooreseen runs of form at this late stage of the season. Nobody can catch us and Chelsea, and we’re too far behind teams on very good form for either of us to finish 4th (barring flukes, as I say). I feel we’re much more likely to be 6th than 5th, but certainly have a realistic chance of 5th. Who’d a thought it?

Comment #38How magnificent was Perch today?
I really think this lad might be something special in the making. He has a calmness and control that reminds me of the late great Bobby Moore. I find it amazing I am saying that, but I try as I might I can’t stop thinking that.
The lad is a player, he really is, he just keeps getting better and better. And he’s only 22.
Bloody amazing – and fantastic – what is happening at our club now.
THIS guys is the real deal. We are FINALLY going places. We really are.

Comment #40Fantastic win and team performance today I am buzzing after that result as we don’t normally play well against Liverpool. Cisse is proving a very shrewd signing 9 goals in 9 games I think it is now. Not too shabby at all. We need to try and keep this going for the rest of the season like Pardew said taking one game at a time and who knows where this can lead us 🙂 exciting times. What a game Perch had I wasn’t his biggest fan previously but I love to see players up there game and I give credit when it is due he has been magnificent. Perchinho 😀 .
