Cheick Tiote is back in the Newcastle United starting line-up, as expected, for today’s clash with Liverpool at St. James’ Park.
But that’s the only change from the side that beat West Brom 3-1 last week at The Hawthorns.
And Pardew is expected to play again with the 4-3-3 formation, with Hatem Ben Arfa, Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba forming a lethal attacking three up front.
So it would appear that Jonas Gutierrez could again be at left-back, with the midfield three now being Guthrie, Cabaye and Tiote, and Jonas is captain in place of his Argentine team-mate Fabricio Coloccini.
Ryan Taylor is back from his calf injury and is on the bench.
For Liverpool Andy Carroll, Jose Enrique and Craig Bellamy, all former Newcastle players, make the starting line-up.
Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel are the two center-backs, and of course Steven Gerrrad captains the side, and former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson is on the bench.
Craig Bellamy could be the danger man for Liverpool.
Teams:
Newcastle United (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, James Perch, Jonas Gutierrez (c); Danny Guthrie, Cheick Tiote, Yohan Cabaye; Hatem Ben Arfa, Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Shane Ferguson, Davide Santon, Dan Gosling, Ryan Taylor, Haris Vuckic, Shola Ameobi
Liverpool (4-4-2): Pepe Reina; Jon Flanagan, Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel, Jose Enrique; Jonjo Shelvey, Steven Gerrard (c), Jay Spearing, Craig Bellamy; Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez
Substitutes: Alexander Doni, Fabio Aurelio, Sebastian Coates, Maxi Rodriguez, Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing, Dirk Kuyt

Comment #563Ah good, josh is back.
My years of playing FM have told me that we need to change to an obscure formation so the other manager doesn’t know what to expect. Expect to see 2-3-2-2-1 against Swansea.
…did Ol’ ‘Arry just compliment us?

Comment #570josh he had a decent game today apart from nearly giving a pen away, but he has sucked big time for like the last 10 games making loads of mistakes. You seem to have a very short memory.
