One player that Newcastle have been linked with, and we haven’t yet covered is Blackburn’s Steven N’Zonzi.
Steven N’Zonzi – Blackburn central midfielder
Now it could be because he’s French that Newcastle are being linked with the player, and we don’t know if the stories are true, that the Magpies want this lad on Tyneside.
With Blackburn being relegated and their short-term future far from certain, with Indian owner Venky’s still in control and Steve Keen still the manager, Rovers may have to unload some of their players this summer.
One player we hope Newcastle will go after is free agent David (Junior) Hoilett, the young Canadian forward who doesn’t turn 22 until next Tuesday, and he has looked a very good player on Blackburn’s left wing last season, and is now a free agent.
Newcastle would still need to pay Blackburn compensation for the player, because he is under 24 and has been at Blackburn since 2003.
Steven N’Zonzi, who plays in defensive midfield, joined Blackburn in the summer of 2009 from French club Amiens SC, and he has since played 96 times for Blackburn with 5 goals.
Steven is just short of 6’5″ tall, so could give some power to the Newcastle central midfield, and since he’s French – he was born Colombes, France – he could settle in quickly on Tyneside, given our large and growing French legion.
Steven has played six times for the France U21 side, and has a contract through the summer of 2015, but he could improve on Tyneside, with the lad not turning 24 until December.
What do you think about these two players?
Comments welcome.

Comment #2A little boy was doing his maths homework.
He said to himself, “Two plus five, the son of a b!tch is seven.
Three plus six, the son of a b!tch is nine…”
His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, “What are you doing?”
The little boy answered, “I’m doing my maths homework, Mom.”
” And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?” the mother asked.
“Yes,” he answered.
Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, “What are you teaching my son in maths?”
The teacher replied, “Right now, we are learning addition.”
The mother asked, “And are you teaching them to say two plus two, the Son Of a b!tch is four?”
After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered,
“What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four.”

Comment #3be shocked if we sign Bas Dost! Possibly the least mobile player i’ve ever seen, reminds me a lot of Nikola Zigic! If we were looking at anyone from Herenveen i’d hope it would be Filip Duricic or Luciano Narsingh who pretty much put all those goals for Dost on a plate! Narsingh especially is an immense talent!

Comment #6Jayphoto – says it all when Narsingh was called up to holland provisional squad ahead of Dost, a personally think Dost will be a flop in the prem he cant run atall hes a mixture of Crouch and Zigic..
Would love Hoillet he would be the perfect replacement for Ba and then sign De Jong aswell… Never really rated N’zonzi
Mackems are having talks with Diame and Cuellar in next 48hrs

Good squad player.
Id pass on Hoilett, his attitude seems bad, similar to Zog.

Comment #12Don’t even get me started on your grammar… Seems like Hoilett is on his way to Arsenal/Tottenham and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s asking for wages we can’t afford to pay him.

Comment #14@GT89 – playing in a team with Assaidi, Djuricic and Narsingh, id score 40 goals a season in eredivisie! I’d love Assaidi and and Narsingh tho! Rumours are both are going to be going to fulham for about 7m each! Added to dembele and Bryan Ruiz and that would give them quite the exciting front 4!

Comment #20Redondo – You just said you dont see much about hoillet and he will be another Obertan – are you on this planet obertan has not had one good season in the prem league unlike hoillet who has been one of the standout players in the prem last year. He is full of confidence and runs at players unlike obertan who has major confidence issues. The lad scores goals and creates them what more do you want an idiotic statement from you imo.

Comment #21Cisse speaks French… Just get some more French players and we’re sorted.
There really is no point speculating – Carr is under the radar and finding players who we don’t have to pay too much for.
IN CARR WE TRUST

Comment #26I’d be happy with both of these. Looking more and more likely that ba will leave so hoilett would be direct replacement for him and wouldn’t cost as much as we would get for ba. Nzonzi is a player I rate quite highly. I think he could start for us in a 3 man midfield. Jonas isn’t a cm. but even if he is not used as a starter more than capable of providing cover for our other cms. The question is if we are to sign him as a squad player. Would he rather be a squad player at a prem team in Europe or a definite starter in the championship?

The Papers here in Switzerland are reporting today that the swiss manager of Borrussia Möchengladbach has apparently landed Hoillet.
Probs papertalk. But just wanted to let you know that there are other clubs sniffing around.
