An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #7I counted 4(!) massive let offs which they should’ve scored from.
Obertan very good- hope he pushes on from that.
Slightly scrappy performance but we’re through, so never mind.

Comment #8Marveaux and Oba did well…
I heard Pardew post match interview and he mentioned Raylor seems to have picked up a bad know so he will have to speak to the chairman about possibly getting a player in …

Comment #12MOTM obatan he is still poor with crosses but a forward does not need to do many crosses, just be a threat to goal which is what he showed the signs of today the only thing missing was the goal which was always going to be hard as wingers need good skills like HBA or good range like raylor but obatan shows signs of rooney in a lesser scale.

Comment #15They wuz robbed…penalty and red card….naff finish second half… it was too close.
We played a bit semi detached… did just enough…
Positives…. Obertan and Marveaux
Negatives… Injury to Raylor, Marvs corners, Bigi’s free kicks

Comment #20Colo is the best player. If no captain we will be dead today.
Bigi is too shy to play, still need much improve.
Gosling look good in midfield role but lack of fitness.
Ba and Krul not lively.
Simp Obertan and Marveaux are good.
Vuckic scored the winner but can do better
Good experience for them. Hopefully they will learn from it.

Comment #21Obertan looked threatening against a weak left back. He had him fire pace all day, still cant deliver a final ball though! Marveaux motm for me, picked out perfect passes at times, hopefully going to have an injury free, impact this season.

Comment #22I dont think he was man of the match and he gave the ball away a couple of times but I really like the look of Bigi. I think he out of all the youngsters will be the one pushing the first team later in the season.

Comment #24Well done Obertan. I was willing him to play well all game, although I do that every game 🙂 regardless of what people generally think of him, he does have very good skills and deft touches as well as quite a powerful shot at times.

Comment #28Decent 1st half with some good displays by Obertan and Marveaux.
2nd half all became a bit lacking and against better opposition we would have been beaten. It looked promising in the early stages but as game went on they were a threat. Have to concede Gosling did himself no favours at all.
If anything it has very clearly demonstrated the need for new senior faces but alas it will all be in vain.
Enjoy the 6 Europa games lads as you won’t be watching Europa games next season and if you all think this window has been bad just wait until next summer. We have a good 1st 11 but will struggle IMO. Another season of frustration awaits but here’s hoping I am wrong.

Comment #30Toon were lucky tonight. Obertan is infuriating to watch, few good touches but then does something stupid. Bring on Europe though!

Comment #31Difficult call. It seems that most of Newcastle’s A/B team (not quite set in stone first teamers) are frustratingly close to being decent players, but seem to frustrate me in their attempts.
Obertan has pace and did give the back line a torrid time, but as RobsonWonderland pointed out in a previous entry, 0 successful crosses tonight is not good enough. Marveaux showed flashes of skill, but not quite as dazzling as Ben Arfa.
Vuckic looked pretty solid, Bigi impressed when you factor in his age inexperience.
Gosling didn’t impress me, still waiting for him to come good.
This game suggested to me that whilst I’m happy enough with our starting 11 aside from one defender (RB, but that’s another debate), our bench is either a step down or ‘potential’.
With playing in the Europa League midweek, I’m worried that our squad will suffer and the knock on effects will impact our league position a la Stoke’s European hangovers.
I do hope we go far in the Europa League, and of course I’m happy we’re in a European competition. Just concerned we lack the strength and depth to challenge on two fronts.

Comment #32you guys are easely pleasesd , obertan was no where near our best player,
vuckic marv and colo where head and shoulders above him,
obertan had everything in place for him to have a great game, but once again his final ball is shocking, he makes poor choices nearly every time,
im not saying he had a poor game, he had an ok one, but he is in the team to suply goals, and this he is not good at
