Newcastle Youngster – It’s Our Job To Win Trophies

Eighteen-year-old midfielder Gael Bigirimana has been one of the positive surprises at Newcastle this season, since signing from Coventry City for just £1M over the summer, and he started off his Newcastle career in style and has already racked up 5 appearances for the first team, after impressing in pre-season.

Gael Bigirimana – could start tonight

Since arriving on Tyneside, Gael has very quickly picked up the history of the club, and he now knows we haven’t won anything for 43 years, and haven’t won a game at Old Trafford for 40 years.

This is what the Bujumbura, Burundi born player said today in the local press:

“I know a little bit of the story of the club and from what I can remember, they haven’t won any cups for quite a long time.”

“For any club, that’s what the fans want, the fans want a trophy – the Capital One Cup, the FA Cup, the Europa League, whatever, the Premier League, they just want a cup just to get that feeling of winning something.”

“It would just lift up the place. It’s a hard challenge, but we are here, that’s our job, we have got to provide that.”

It’s probable that Gael will start on the bench tonight, but with Cheick Tiote short of match practice, Gael could even get the start, and that would show the confidence the Newcastle manager has in this top 18 year-old youngster.

In fact we’d like to see the lad start, since he doesn’t yet know what’s impossible at Newcastle,  and he could help us get the win.

And in short – a win tonight would be simply fantastic.

Howay The Lads!!

This boy has a massive future with us and could prove to be one of Carr’s best pick ups

There is absolutely NO reason we cant win tonight. All we have to do is match Man Ure, in their own back yard and score one more goal than they do.

    Its simple, really!! lol

This kid is a real talent and another steal at 1M. His positive influence is bound to rub off on others around him. In my eyes he isn’t that far off from Tiote and is already make Mr T sweat for his place. Great things are in store for this bright kid.

Does anyone know when kick off is and is it on telly?

JB….Another who has been in hiding. Hope all is well.

He certainly knows what to say. Perhaps he could get a PR role within the club. Take some of the pressure off Pardew?

After reading what Pardew has said in the papers this morning, I think this could be the line-up tonight:

Subs: Harper, Good, Tavernier, Bigi, Sammy, Amalfitano, Campbell.

Stick him in the middle with Tiote, learn from the best and its not a midfield I would mess with

tenpointnine – Thanks mate, it’s on Sky Sports 2 yupi! 🙂

We can do this, I still find it hard to believe we haven’t won there in like 40 years!!

JP, its on Sky Sports 2 i think mate. I dont rate that team above – we are going to have to do far better than play Gosling and Obertan i’m afraid. He’ll play Tiote for sure, but if he doesnt calm down he’s going to turn into a player who exits NUFC next summer. We all love him, but his injury record and yellow cards count is beginning to add up to a bad story.

    Bigi has been a revelation.
I back Tiote to start but Bigi to come on when Cheik gets a booking.

That will be after about 10 minutes (assuming Chiek is somewhat restrained compared with last Sunday!)
