We knew last week that Newcastle United were continuing to negotiate with Demba Ba’s representatives, in the hope that they could get a new deal agreed to keep Demba Ba at Newcastle, on a new long term contract.
Demba Ba – decent chance Newcastle can get him on new deal?
The current contract of course is causing no end of trouble for the Tyneside club, once that release clause was revealed by none other than Harry Redknapp, the former Spurs manager, back in January.
And since it became active in June and July, Ba has been linked with numerous clubs, and he is now linked with Liverpool, who may move for the Senegal striker when the release clause again becomes active in the January transfer window.
The good news is that Newcastle are still negotiating with Demba Ba’s people, so the hope is that a new deal can be agreed before January 1st rolls around, and Newcastle may even be hopeful of striking a deal in the next month.
If Ba does sign a new deal at Newcastle, it would mean Ba could still leave in January, but that would be extremely unlikely.
Anybody coming in for Ba in January would then have to pay his market price, which is an awful lot higher than the £7M release clause, and it’s understood that Ba and his representatives get about £5M of that amount, which would leave very little left for the Newcastle coffers.
Hey, maybe Liverpool will come in with another one of those £35M offers for the Senegal Striker?
Here’s Demba Ba’s twitter account if you’d like to let him know that you want him to sign a new deal at the club, and of course there would be no release clause in that new contract – no way.
It would be great news if Newcastle announce before the new year, that the club have agreed a deal to keep Demba Ba at Newcastle, simply because he’s a great striker and he’s not too bad a guy either. 😀
It would be fantastic news, and we wouldn’t put it past Newcastle to be able to achieve that goal.
What do you think?

Comment #41So excited for todays game, its never dull when we play Liverpool that’s for sure!
Does anybody know when the the new shirts come out with the wonga logo on? Is it January? I really want our burgundy away top but as much as I prefer the virgin logo if I’m going to fork out my hard earned wonga I’d rather have the latest top.

New shirts not out until after the end of this season.
Wonga starts at the beginning of the next, so i wouldn’t expect anything until August next years.

The wonga logos only kick in next season. We will definitely have the virgin logos till the end of the season

“I like Ba. He is a quality player, however he isn’t good enough for Liverpool. Now hold on hear me out. The problem with them is they’re used to buying the best and while Ba is good he isn’t in that category.
He’ll not be good enough for them and that’s their problem”
Mate are you crazy???
Outside of the Manchester clubs and probably Chelsea (to an extent) Ba would be the first name on the team sheet for the rest of the teams. Arsenal and esp Liverpool are crying for a finisher like Ba. If Ba played for the bindippers, he would out shine saurez and they would be saying he is world class. He is strong, fairly quick, can head, shoot, has a wonderful first touch, brilliant movement, a good attitude, and a deadly finisher. He has to be the most underrated player in the epl. If he was English, by God everyone would be saying he is world class.

Comment #47I am pretty sure the 7 mil would be all ours not only two of it . As if we would have agreed to a two mil deal . In fact I believe the whole deal is a joke . And the club only tells us very little if any truths . We still have a lot of cash to spend besides this from past deals and our finish last year . So let’s concentrate on what we need not what others speculate for bin dippers poor spending

Comment #48Groundhog Day!! This story is so monotonous and draining that we would be remarkably stupid to even consider placing another of those pathetic clauses into another player’s contract for the next 50 years!
How sick am I of constantly dreading that Ba our top scorer could once again be shipped off to our rivals for peanuts.
I thought it was all over in the summer and now all this shite again for January, then it will be summer again, never bloody ending. BA SIGN THAT FCUKING CONTRACT WILL YA! – should I now go on on TWITter and express myself there? FFS.
Looking forward to the match today, should be interesting especially with Pardew acknowledging our lack of rhythm.
2-1 to the Toon!
