Both Steven Taylor and Cheick Tiote should be fit to play against Arsenal on Sunday, and we are hoping to see a good performance from Newcastle, and a lot different from the way the lads performed in the last two games against Sunderland and Liverpool. Ouch!
Steven Taylor – could start on Sunday
Those two terrible defeats were an embarrassment to Newcastle fans everywhere, and we’d love to see the team go out with a win, so at least we can finish the season on a high, after a terribly disappointing season for Newcastle.
Here’s what we think the team will be that Alan Pardew will play on Sunday:
Harper
Debuchy Coloccini (c) Taylor (S) Yanga-Mbiwa
Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Gutierrez
Gouffran Cisse
Subs: Alnwick Williamson Anita Perch Ferguson Marveaux Campbell
Sylvain Marveaux is fit so he may get a start somewhere, and if not he’ll be brough on in the second half, and Sylvain is one of the few players this seoasn who has improved his standing at the club, and he’s put in some great performances for the team.
Let’s know what your team is – and also how you think the game will go on Sunday.

Debuchy – Colo – Tayls – Mbiwa
Cabs – Tiote – Sissoko
Hba – Cisse – Gouffran
However Jonas could (prob will!) start so could see sissoko play in place of HBA or dropped to bench altogether.

Comment #5Tsunki…Just realised I missed out Jonas! I’m already wrong 🙂
No, “other guy” imo, that is unless Stevie has a poorly tummy again.

Comment #10Got to stick 5 in midfield with Arsenal, surely Ed?
Either way, I can’t see us winning. Hope we perform well though and Harper has a good send off.

Comment #12Yeah I’d like to see Anita get some game time. As well as Campbell. But doubt pardew does!

Comment #16Looks good on paper, but they have such defined roles, they can’t play their natural games.
Pardew sees himself as a conductor, dictating pace, movement and gameplan strategy from the touchline.
He gets the glory of the wins and everyone else is responsible for the losses.

Comment #20the way the game will go is arsenal will atk atk atk and we will not be able to keep them out all the time so i think this could be a great game for goofy/arfa/marv to counter thee weak defence as theres no point asking them to track back past the half way line as they are not exceptional defenders anyways.

Tsunki, in fairness Rafa has always wound me up in his interviews , but he is tactically up there with the best and had the measure of Barca and RMadrid when at Valencia, also he done Mourinho over a few times to boot as well, trophys won all over the gaff as well, better than Pardew without any question, no argument, and as Ibiza says he does a very decent Tapas and omelette as well, so he has the full package.
Tiote must be out the wat he walked down the tunnel last week?

think so buddy also marv got most improved player and pards is singing his praises today saying how much he’s valued ect at the club so would have thought he would start also.
intresting thing i read today also is that marv has the most assist’s in our team ^^ he hardly plays lol….surely worth a run in the team just based on stats.

Comment #28croftus…It may have changed, but a few weeks ago, marv was amongst the most played in our team….I suppose its long runs in the team he doesn’t get, same with Anita.
I missed the comment about Marv, maybe he’s due a start then.

Comment #35the most effective line up could be that one which doesn´t include papiss because he´s totally uncapable of link up or holding the ball up front…so i would drop him and play this formation:)

deBUCH colo taylor mym
tiote guti
cabaye
benny marve

this team should be very potent for counterattack as there´s enough speed, passing skills and technical skills to go past arsenal defense – also i can see them throw everythink at us because they need a win to qualify for champs league and they will not give us much possesion thats for sure…what do you think? 🙂

Comment #38Arsenal are weak at the back so we need to play 4x4x2 to keep them on the back foot. A previous blog said 5 in the middle, that means you think we are beat before we start.

451 with 5 in the middle when defending morphing into 434 when attacking. the shape always changes depending on which way you’re going
