Wigan Lodge Formal Bid For James Perch

News coming through from the Daily Mirror that Wigan Athletic have put in a bid for Newcastle’s James Perch.

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Newcastle United v Liverpool - St James' Park

James Perch – Wigan put in formal bid

The report says that Wigan are waiting for a response from Newcastle, and of course Newcastle need to decide whether they will sell James this summer or lose him as a free agent next summer when his four-year deal runs out.

And James may be one of those players that new Director of Football Joe Kinnear says isn’t good enough to be at the club, but James is solid player who can play in many different positions, and he’s proved that since signing on from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2010.

He’s an excellent squad player and after a difficult first season, he has played well over the last two seasons, and we’d like to see him stay on Tyneside.

For the record, James has played 81 times for Newcastle with one goal in his three seasons on Tyneside, but he’s also picked up 21 yellow cards.

Jack Butler, on the contrary, virtually everything we read at the moment is made up. People just choose to believe what they want to.

Don’t believe the PEA rumors; you a falling for the same rubbish just different player.

Nothing matters until they are holding a NUFC shirt with their name and number on it!

We will have to wait and see what JK and co. have in store for us!

PEA is a hope, but nothing more until proven otherwise. So stop saying we defo have a bid malarky because we probably dont!

Just wait and see! God! It will be when he signs for Dortmund this blog will erupt with comments saying how cheap we are when we may actually not be in for him at all!!

Same old same old! Stop jumping on the band wagon and wait and see what happens!

Its the same news over and over, it was like this with Luuk De Jong last year!

lol well JB it mentions Toite wanting to move elsewhere, hes stated about 50 times since last season he has no intention of moving on, Ben Afra links away were taken from a missconstrude interview. Although yes the question does remain is it a case of money in the coffers? didnt Lambreeze say something along the lines of our summer purchases were moved forward to January? or was that more Journo BS… i carnt remember

that is the case mate, but the again the club only seem to give us the negatives to talk about and the press can have a field day with us, we are a pantomime for them and they lap it up

all our targets will be off soon, PEA will be going to another club before the end of this week, i’m not one of those ITK ppl but my mate who lives over Germany says that loads of Dortmund fans have express excitement for PEA going there and according to most of there fans it’s a done deal

Back to the story, I can’t believe even though he’s starting the last year of his contract JP is worth only 700k. He was shocking when we first signed him as an RB, but in my opinion the last 2 years, particularly when he was deployed as a DM he has been one of our best performers. I know it will give Vernon Anita a better opportunity of a start next season, but personally I would rather see JP retained as cover for VA, and Tiote sold for big money (based on last season, that’s unlikely though). I do hope JP goes on to bigger and better things, unlike our last export to Wigan.

Not putting any stock in what I read till players are holding up the shirt. Will be glad when this circus is over and we are all arguing about Pardews tactics again.

Definitly going to increase our hate factor for that guy.

you know what lads… I think we might go for Loic Remy, no, I am not an ITK, just my personal opinion. I know he has his charges against him, however, there are no transfer rumours about him lately, and for me, if he was cleared, would be a brilliant buy. And yes, I can also forget that he turned us down for more money. If the team benefits then bring it on… cant be any worse at the moment can it?

Belhanda was off to Turkey in January then deal broke down. Nobody except Fenerebache seem interested then. Price tag? Wage demands? I don’t know. He was up for grabs but something made people stay away from him.

So I see Vainqeur has just signed a new deal with Standard Liege to 2017.
A deal with Newcastle had been in the offing for several months, but a “determining factor” suddenly changed it.
What’s the betting Kinnear is behind this?
So far we’ve signed no one and pulled out of deals for Douglas and Vainqeur. What are we playing at?!

Dont get me wrong i dont like the thought of perch at right back. Much prefer him in the holding role where he hasnt got as big a defensive responsibilty as such. But the couple of times ive seen santon at right back it doesnt work. Which is mind boggling being right footed

To be fair KK has got us, fulham and man city all promoted to top division.
Also 3rd 6th 2nd in prem before walking.

Those were the days when all nufc fans dreamt of winning, actually competing with the best and watching attacking football most weeks.
And the best thing… nobody ever once said anything about the bloody accounts.
But look at how, we are much better off now. £267 million in debt.

I can only imagine how JFK pronounced his name…
    So many possibilities for error…
If he is behind this, that is two quality players who would have improved our squad who’ve slipped through the net because of his involvement with our club. Not a chance of signing the likes of PEA with him still around… This needs to end before we lose too much of the window.

Jono we are not 267 mill in debt, the debt we do have(130 mill) was ran up by Sheperd and has been covered by interest fee loan. If and when MA sells up it would be covered in the selling price. MA is a cock and has a genius for making decisions that wind up supporters but the debt is not his fault.

Interesting concept. But if it is all the same I will stick with my own accountant when I file my next tax return.
