28 year-old Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis didn’t sign for Inter-Milan after all last month, and we have to think there’s a very good chance that Newcastle can sign him as a free agent in the summer, and there’s no reason why he cannot be signed up now to a pre-contract agreement.
Bafe Gomis – sign this man up
But it looks like that’s something he hasn’t done yet, as he had this to say to L’Equipe today:
“I have not signed any pre-contract with anyone,” “I can pretty much go, as I can very well stay.” “I play with the mindset of a player who loves his club and respects his contract.”
“I would not want to give the impression that my head is somewhere else.” “I’m still proud to wear these colors, and I have a lot of ambitions with OL [Lyon]. So don’t expect me to give up.”
That’s a nice PR statement from Bafe, but that’s all it is, and we certainly expect Bafe to respect his five year contract at Lyon and give them 100% while he’s there, which is until the end of June, and then he can sign for any club as a free agent.
And there have been quotes coming from the French International striker’s Twitter account, that he would like to sign for Newcastle, and that he is already learning English for his new career in England.
We just hope that’s going to be with Newcastle United, because as a free agent this lad would be a good signing for Newcastle.
And he could potentially link up well with 23 year-old Dutchman Luuk de Jong, who we hope will earn a deal on Tyneside in the summer, by scoring some goals for us through the final 14 games of the season.
You never know – maybe there’s some good things about to happen to Newcastle before the end of the season, and also in the summer.
That would be a complete shock – but also a very nice change. 😀
Howay The Lads!!

I could take losing a few games if it got rid of pardew. Let’s face it the season’s over and even pardew couldn’t relegate us from here.

Comment #2Only seen bit of this lad, not hugely impressed but if the club want him why was he not bought in january or at least signed up to a pre contract to join in the summer.
They clearly don’t fancy him.

Even Ashley’s own pals are abandoning him….his time is coming.

It is a shame you always feel the need to resort to personal insults when quite a lot of people actually share my views.
It’s usually a sign of somebody who is very insecure or is somewhat cerebrally and intellectually challenged. Either works for me.

it really sucked that no one else was even interviewed for the job at the time. History shows that Pardew’s one top 6th finish in nearly 20 years was clearly a one off dependent on so many factors that season.

Comment #18Well Done Kinnear But What About Alan Pardew?
1 hour ago by Adam Morrison
Well what can you say about the Kinnear resignation?
I say thank you Joe for doing the decent thing and going. This is more than I can say for the pathetic puppet that is our manager.
kinnear resignation People need to remember it was job success for Joe. Does anyone really think the job description was to go out and take Newcastle to the Champions League?
Joe has helped ensure that Newcastle are around £60 million in the black this season thanks to increase in tv revenue and transfer dealings.
Kinnear has done everything that was asked of him yet will not give more time to cover up the horrendous job being done by the other two cockneys at Newcastle.
People can say what they want about one game not defining a season but the pure humiliation on Saturday was like nothing I have ever experienced at Newcastle. That I’m afraid is someone’s fault and that person is Pardew!
The constant lies and excuses are driving me away from the game I love. We still had 11 players who should have been able to compete with a team that was bottom of the league for most of the year.
The words ‘we were probably too hyped up for it’ nearly made me put a wall through in my house when I heard it. Is this the sort of guy you want as our manager!?
Kinnear has again done his job and took the heat off Pardew for a few days but I just hope by this time next week we are talking about Pardew growing a pair and taking responsibility and resigning.
Hey, maybe without a DOF and manager even Ashley might consider walking away……

If we’re 1-0 away from home what are we supposed to do?defend all game going for the 1-0?,keep attacking and leave yourself open?.What most teams would do is sit back and counter attack hoping to catch the other team out but if you don’t score it looks like your defending too much,Chelsea were perfect last night, got the goal early and played on the counter but they have world class players all over.I bet the performances your talking about were mostly away from home.
mojo
last night Chelsea played man c , I would expect some counter attack football
but you pick the best teams in the league, im talking about playing Cardiff west brom stoke sundeland Fulham, these types of teams at our home, we do not set out to attack, with our better quality, we sit and wait, score then defend,
we only beat stoke at home because they lost 2 men, we were already a goal down and looking poor,,
but you can highlight the games v the top teams if you like

Pressure in mounting on Ashley, fans back against him, his two chums llambias and kinnear walking away from jobs he gifted them….pardew will walk before the end of the season (just a hunch, keep his stock high)
Even the media now say “mike ashley has brought stability to the club but….” and some say nothing much will change til he leaves.
Everyone is figuring the man out for what he is.

Comment #25“It’s Time To Sign Up This Striker For Newcastle”
Why?
And just whilst I am being ever so slightly critical; I very much liked the idea of a ‘Mission Statement’ but did not get to the end of the ‘bullet points’ as they became very descriptive and rambling. Any chance you (Ed) could revise and make them proper targets which I may then be able to agree/disagree with?

Why do you question the least relevant point?.I used Chelsea as an example because they went a goal up and played counter attack, when we go 1 nil up away and try to play on the counter it looks like were being too defensive because our counter attacks are not working. Chelsea have world class players everywhere

but that is manager not the player
anita has been man of the match many times
marv, looked one of the better players , I think he normally does
mhendi is doing very well in Greece undere a new coach, also did well in scottland
LDJ, does not look a bad player, but lets see how he does with no service
RA is the only one who has not shown us anything, but I did watch a reserve game on MUTV , they beat us , but I thought he did ok up to about 60 mins, but that is a different level
