Six Senior Players Certain to Leave Newcastle This Summer

Given the season Newcastle have had, there is certain to be a clear-out of the squad this summer, and it could be the biggest transfer window at Newcastle for some time, as the club not only let players go, but bring in a number of new players to replace them.

shola ameobi - norwich

Shola Ameobi – will leave the club in June

Two players have their contracts running out at the end of June and they will not be renewed. and those players are long-serving Shola Ameobi and Dan Gosling, who has been on Tyneside for nearly four years, but just hasn’t made the grade.,

And Dan was charged by the FA yesterday for betting violations of FA Rule 8B, and he has requested a personal hearing.

Both Shola and Dan will leave the club at the end of June.

There will also be three French wingers who will be leaving Newcastle this summer – Romain Amalfitano, Gabby Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux.

Romain has been at the club for nearly two years and is currently out on loan to French second division side Dijon, and he’s just never made the grade at Newcastle.

Both Gabby and Sylvain were signed almost three years ago, and while both have featured in the first team fairly  regularly before this season, their appearances this season have been sparse at best – and both will be allowed to leave.

Jonas Gutierrez was signed at the same time as Fabricio Coloccini back in August of 2008, but he made only two appearances for Newcastle this season, before going out on loan in January to Norwich, and they have an option to buy him for £3M this summer – but this will be Jonas’ last season at Newcastle.

Those are the six players who are certain to leave, and others who could join them are Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong, who are both on loan.

We nearly had Loic on the above list, and Newcastle would like to sign the player, but 85% of fans don’t think Newcastle will be able to do that, and Loic will likely join a club in the Champions League this summer.

Ben Arfa and Steven Taylor are two other players who have had little first team action this season,  and they could also leave, and we don’t know the status of Fab Coloccini, who may still want to move back to Argentina to be with his family at the end of the season.

But there are six senior players who will definitely leave the club, and there could be  more players join them.

Update – Since we brought out his report earlier today Loic Remy has said it’s his intention to join one of Europe’s top five clubs – so he will also not be at Newcastle next season.

What do you think?

must be nice….you’d have thought from the amount o f cash he has and the interest he showed in sitting with fans that he’d want to spend some of his own

Referring to the article yesterday “Pardew too isolated”

I was interested to know the source for the information about a new CEO being employed. At the last Fans Forum meeting the club let it be known that their intention was to address this issue in the summer, which IMO is a mistake and should be sooner. However, there does not appear to be any source and once again the media is shown to be culpable of lying to serve there own means.

I would be very interested to know what the situation is at NUFC now that there is no individual directly responsible for the club. Ashley has always been perceived to have a hands on role in transfers, which perhaps is hopeful for the coming summer, but then again he is also responsible for some catastrophic decisions due to his supposed lack of football ‘knowledge’.

Ashleys undertaking of the role also undermines the importance of such a position as he is the owner with other interests and therefore has responsibilities elsewhere to attend to. A dedicated, knowledgeable and credible CEO would be responsible for a transfer budget, liaising with media and fans, plus the increase in commercial revenue which is apparently a very important factor. Yet again the club is reneging on its duty to act in a professional business like manner.

    BONUS or shafted as usual?

Is there any chance of NUFC being rewarded with shares in recognition of their contribution to the on going success of Sports Direct?

I think we will be faily busy this coming window.

Here’s hoping we have Cabella on a pre-contract agreement already. Certainly sounded like it from what his father was saying.

Apart from that we need at least 2 pacey Wingers and at least 2 Strikers. Armstrong needs to go out on loan.

Maybe a young proper RB to cover Debuchy if he gets injured (or possibly poached by Bayern).

A CB to cover Colo when he leaves. Curtis Good is doing well but is a couple of years away from challenging first team.

Need a GK too. Elliot has been given nothing this season and I wouldnt be surprised if he is looking to leave.

Anyone seen the story on remy apparently wanting to sign for a top 5 side? I wonder if niafron our resident frenchie can find the story and do a proper translation instead of our media who might of misinterpreted it? The mag are getting their “expert” to look into it

Although it’s probably true because as we all know we don’t show any ambition whatsoever 🙂

Remy is a good player but not irreplaceable…..he isn’t a ronaldo, suarez, messi he’s just a good player, if we don’t sign him i’m sure there are others who could do as good a job for us.

I agree but is it likely we will? Previous would suggest not imo m8 unless of course fatty has learnt his lesson which I highly doubt.

Anyway here is another translation that says “one day” he would like to play for a top five team so read into that what we will but he also seems gracious we gave him the chance to play top tier football when other clubs weren’t so keen and thanked the club and city for his opportunity and support

Yes they did state that but why wait until the summer because the new guy will need time to bed in or get his bearings but that could be all part of the plan I.e the new,guy didn’t have enough time to complete deals or anything else for that matter because he was new in the role! Queue pardew bullshit spewing out of his mouth whilst the gullible lap it up

still not sure remy has done enough to get a top 5 team in England
all the top 5 teams like a striker to be proven over a longer period
arsenal need a striker why wernt they in for benteke last season who was scoring for fun
remy will have done a season and a half, cant see Spanish team going for him maybe Italy, but we wont know till the end of the world cup

as long as we sign dejong we can go into pre season and work on him and goofy and maybe Sammy but we need more than dejong to sign

dunno we do everything arse about faced at the moment

there should be some1 in now trying to broker deals for the quality free players that can sign for any1 at any time then we would know what positions we need to buy for and start making move for those players to so we can get them all in for pre season if there not at the world cup
its a stupid way to do things and it does appear to be done on purpose so they then can roll out the excuses

My point exactly. We just seem to lurch towards a window with no real planning or preparation which I find diabolical for a premiership club! Let’s just wing it and see what happens aye but does fatty do this with his “other” businesses! Does he fcuk! The 7 P’s spring to mind, proper planning and preparation prevents piss poor performance

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT? You’re just guessing as usual. You said the EXACT same thing about Williamson end of last season. Stop presenting conjecture as fact
