If Cardiff City are relegated at the end of the season it’s almost a cast iron certainty that the ambitious Steven Caulker would leave the South Wales side.
Steven Caulker – in good form for Cardiff City
And Cardiff are in the north-east in their next two games and two defeats in those games against Sunderland and Newcastle would almost certainly mean they are relegated and it could also mean that Sunderland survive.
The Feltham born 22-year-old has already been capped once by England, and he played 10 times with two goals for the England U21 side, and also played 5 times for Great Britain in the London Olympics.
He played 29 times with two goals for Tottenham, and was impressive last season while on loan at Swansea and he has continued his good form this season at Cardiff, where he has scored 5 goals in 36 appearances.
Newcastle have doubts surrounding center-backs Fab Coloccini, Steven Taylor and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa in the summer, and it would be good if Newcastle can bring in a good young English center-back like Caulker, who is also dangerous in the air from corner kicks.
Caulker has been on loan at Yeovil, Bristol City and Swansea and in his career so far, he already has made 167 appearances with 9 goals, and he is not yet the finished product.
The 6’3″ Caulker is the type of good young player that hopefully Newcastle will be signing in the summer.

Comment #1TDS, caulker definitely, I don’t think benteke will stay with villa, would love to see Delphi and Holtby from spurs.
I just think Colbeck is either cover for Tiote or he’s off as well. Lol

Comment #2The sad bit in thia article is that in the space of just over a year we have turned Yanga-Mbiwa from an outstanding prospect in French football to a quivering wreck in the EPL, doesn’t Pardew coach the back 4 by his own admission, therefore it’s his fault.

Comment #3Seems appropriate for a repost!
Who would people like to see from relegated teams?
Would definitely take a punt on Dejagah if Fulham get relegated
Also Fer and Snodgrass from Norwich
Noone and Caulker from Cardiff
Benteke and Delph from Villa
No one from the Mackems until they have been through decontamination, then spent 2-3 years in a rehab centre learning how to integrate into decent society!

Honestly don’t understand it beyond beyond the fact he’s free
He’s really not what we need in midfield we need a big name in the middle who’s attacking minded and should be armed with £19 mil to find that player
But not Mashers, a freebie down the road!
Good shout on Holtby very good player think he’d be a great signing

Comment #4TDS, I’d have Holtby over remy Cabella any time, I think the lad is too lightweight for the EPL and Holtby would be a year settled in the EPL.
Mind you I’d take Clement Grenier above both of them, class act.

Yeah Grenier would be a good fit, think we need far more attacking options next season
We prob stand to lose HBA Marv Shola Remy Obertan granted they haven’t contributed much this season but I’d imagine all of them are on pretty decent wages and if there not being used ship them out and get players in who will be
Looking forward to see Abied line up for us next season though

Comment #7TDS, I’d just like to find out what Pardews preferred formation is that way we all know what he wants to play and where the obvious strengthening is needed.
Where do u start if he wants to play 4 4 2, I just don’t think he if wants 4 4 2 we have got enough players in the right natural positions to play that way.
