Cabaye – I’ll Never Forget Extraordinary Time At Newcastle

When Yohan Cabaye first arrived on Tyneside in June of 2011 from Lille, he was simply delighted to be joining a club like Newcastle United, and it seems he looks back on his short two and a half years at the club, and he says he will never forget his extraordinary time at Newcastle.

Yohan Cabaye – will never forget extraordinary time at Newcastle

There has been a Twitter question and answer session with Newcastle fans , and Yohan Cabaye says he cannot wait to get back to play for Newcastle again.

Only kidding, its not quite as good as that, but he does say some great things about the club, and that will only help us with our recruitment this summer.

Here are some of the tweets from the French International during the session:

“I miss @NUFC especially the fans. I spent 2.5 extraordinary years there. I will never forget.”

“I have the chance to play at the Parc des Princes, PSG’s home, where the atmosphere is very good. But I will never forget St James’s Park.”

Cabaye was signed for the €5M release fee in his Lille contract – that’s around £4M – and it was after Lille had just won the French League, and of course Mathieu Debuchy was also in the Lille side.

So we suppose we made a profit of £16M on him in 30 months – but we would have been a lot happier if he was still playing for Newcastle.

But Yohan Cabaye became a much better player once he played for Newcastle and remember he hadn’t been capped at the full French level when he arrived almost three years ago.

And Yohan ended up as one of France’s best players, and in that fantastic 3-0 home win against Ukraine last November, that got France through to the World Cup finals – he was the best player on the field.

We just hope that some of our targets will see how players like Remy, Cabaye, Sissoko and Debuchy have improved on Tyneside, and will sign for us in the summer. 😀

Howay The Lads!!

    Nope. 🙂

Our club seems to operate in extremes and so do some of our fans it appears…you either want Ashley hung from the Tyne bridge or you’re one of his lackeys planted on the blog…

Mostly well said mate. But you know, there is one race that we are allowed to insult and discriminate against as much as we like…dirty monkey mackems!

I explained last night in a post that at a young age I am getting heart pains and it is effecting my health condition.

Is that not a reason to wipe black & white untill Pardew is sacked before it kills me?

Of course we can insult them – they aren’t really human are they 🙂

    Pardew staying…

Not my first choice but I’ll get behind the team when we kick off.

I do hope we set a more ambitious target though. Top 8 surely…

Nope! And I’ll give up on football if someone removes my right to ridicule red and white striped sub-humans…

How is Ashley going to get a cheap Cabaye replacement? That is a question he is desperately seeking an answer for. An excellent, young, cheap AMF who he can sell on in 2-3 years at quadruple the price. Life is so difficult for you isn’t it Mike?

With Pardew still in charge, we’ll end up signing these players:

    Danny Welbeck
    Tom Cleverley
    Chris Smalling
    Mark Noble
    Andy Carroll
    Carlton Cole
    Tom Ince
    Michael Carrick

Those players are useless. Maybe Andy Carroll could do a job for us, but the rest are tosh.

Realistically, we could be signing the following 4 players from Lyon:

Cabaye thrived on the challenge of the PL but he was a good player before he came. NUFC’s coaching team (include the grey haired numpty) dont turn players into great ones otherwise we’d have a queue of them around the block waiting to sign on the dotted line

Cabaye is both a good player and good person.

Would still be staying if we got a different owner
