Agreement Reached On Debuchy Deal – Good For Magpies

Get French Football News is reporting that Arsenal, Newcastle and Mathieu Debuchy have reached agreement on his transfer to Arsenal, and the announcement of the deal is imminent.

Mathieu Debuchy – agreement reached

The deal is said to be for an initial £10M plus bonuses that will amount to 2.5M depending on the number of games Debuchy plays for Arsenal.

That’s £2M more than initial reports which said the deal was for an initial £8M plus £2M in potential bonuses.

And since Mike Ashley wanted £12M for the player,  if Debuchy does well at Arsenal Newcastle will receive £12.5M for a player we paid Lille £5.5M for 18 months ago – so if the news is accurate – that’s a good deal by any measurement.

Mathieu has agreed a four year deal – which is the time he had left on his five and a half year deal at Newcastle.

Newcastle have been linked with a number of top right backs in the last few weeks, with the favorite being Daryl Janmaat of Feyenoord, who is the current Dutch first choice right-back.

Mathieu played 46 times for Newcastle in his 18 months at the club, and was one of Newcastle’s best players last season.

We wish him the best of luck at Arsenal.

Written while on vacation in England.

Hope that wiped the smile of smug Van Gaal’s face.

Shocking football and thinking he can win on penaltys . Moron.

Well that looks like the Germans are going to win the WC.
Poolside loungers will now be unavailable to non Germans -worldwide. A dark day for football and the holidaymaker.

    Argh wanted Holland to win.

I know I should have piped up with this one about 10 hours ago, but I noticed Ed made a comment earlier about how much ‘we’ want Steven Taylor to stay on Tyneside, and hopefully he can regain his old form.

I have a huge amount of respect for Ed but I can’t help thinking that he was on the “extracurricular” when he wrote that?

Mister Tuff, it’s not just the sunbeds that are fair game for our German friends, me and the missus were in Tenerife earlier this year and their queue-jumping antics at the bar are something else. Luckily the better half is more than happy to chip something sarcastic into the proceedings, although I think that might have strained Angle-Deutsch relations a bit further I’m afraid to say.

Van gall the idiot like. Wtf would you put your CB to hit the first pen when you have a hand full of experienced and good quality players like
    Kuyt
    Huntelaar
    Robben
    Snejiter
    Clasie
    Wjanjulm
basically all there strikers and Midfielders.

For a double hard Englishman like myself, trying to decide who I want to win more out of Argies and Germs is like choosing which one of my kids gets the horsewhip whilst the other is allowed to make a run for it…
