The sparks are starting to fly a bit with the Santon loan move to Inter-Milan, and his girlfriend Chloe Sanderson has said that Davide did not want to join Inter-Milan, but was pushed out by Newcastle.
Davide Santon – now in Italy at Inter-Milan
Davide had issued a pleasant enough message on his Facebook account earlier today, and thanked the Newcastle fans – but to heck with the pleasantries .
This is what Chloe Sanderson has said today:
And there were even more tweets from Chloe – all of which have now been deleted – here’s some more of what she put out – obviosuly upset about Davide’s mnove:
“This is not just a loan, it’s a loan with obligation to buy.” “Newcastle as good as told him if he stayed he didn’t have a place in the team.”
“They tried to deny it this morning, to keep it on the down low… so other teams wouldn’t put in an offer for JUST a loan, because Davide would have preferred that. To stay in the Premier League, but Newcastle would have lost the guaranteed buy and money.”
“They are a business not a club. And as long as they keep losing players with the passion Davide had..they are killing nufc, and killing the support from the fans who stick around after all the s***.”
OK – so Chloe’s really upset at Newcastle – but many a true word is said in anger – and a lot of Newcastle fans will agree with that last paragraph.
Davide and Chloe have a beautiful baby daughter Sienna – who will be two years old in May – and we had thought this morning that it would be a disruption for Davide to move to Italy, and it looks like it was true what he had often said – that he was very happy at Newcastle.
And it’s not too surprising that Chloe is not too happy, since the family is disrupted quite a bit, and we don’t know if she will move over to Italy with the baby, to be with Davide.
Chloe, Sienna and Davide in the summer of 2013
But as we mentioned this morning, Newcastle knew that his contract runs out in a short 18 month time, so it was time to cash in on him – and it looks like he wasn’t going to be offered a new deal to stay on Tyneside.
With Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara both playing well at left-back, Newcastle obviously think they have enough cover at left back, and it was simply the Newcastle clearing house once again in action.
And we are very likely to see Cheick Tiote leave the club in the summer too.
And would you believe it but I have lost my internet connection at home today of all days, just when Newcastle are expected to sign a couple of stellar players.
Only the first part of that sentence is true. 😀
What do you think?

Santon was the only sellable LB at the club therefore he’s gone – can’t see us getting anything for Dummett or Haidara therefore they stay

Repost.
LGF,
Yeah, just re read your post mate. Apologies.
AC,
Not entirely sure what was the catalyst for the JFA hate. Funny though, a poster comes on, complains that another (JFA) doesn’t contribute to things and just knocks other peoples opinions, whilst proceeding to post 3 times, offering nothing of any value but insulting people in each post.

For hacking twitter? What n earth are you on about? It is a screen shot taken of her posts before they were removed. Hardly hacking, and hardly going to result in any trouble for the person who took the photo.

Comment #7Well it’s relevant in a way to this article so here comes the repost.
Not that Jail needs defending but pspelectrical you aren’t covering yourself in glory.
No. Ketsy us wrong, he just has a crush on Davide. Haidara us the go to lb at this club, Santon a good second who could with proper coaching be first. Dummett needs to be kept as backup cb, nothing else.
Some quality slob lock on here last night backing up the Pie Destroyer and his mealy mouthed sycophant harem. Ok I know it will open old wounds but here’s my take on the SD / NUFC model.
No way in the universe did mike NOT Know precisely every penny of this clubs finances before he bought it. The invent debt was actually the attraction. Club with a hand to mouth existence fighting for cl place cash to keep afloat easily bought out for a bargain sum, mike says he will take care of debt as part of deal. Personal loan to club allows him to stash 130m of his personal wad as the final say on what deals are made in future re selling the club. As we have seen at rangers, he must have made many micro -arrangements regarding club shop sales, advertising rights, brand placement, SD will be well represented here. Apparently he put the club up for sale for around £250m at some point but I think there’s little chance he will ever sell, reason being is that it is a huge cash generator for the SD brand, and will remain so. Anyone who wants to buy would have to build a new brand association from the ground up, could take a few years to even start being profitable. I think nufc will be sd owned long after mike has devastated his last fried Mars bar. This is as good as it gets, kids!
The ‘top’ teams belong to a world elite of profligate billionaire playboy owners who stop at little to brandish their wealth and achievements to their peers. The bottom teams are hanging on for dear life with cost cutting, shrewd scouting and minimal investment, playing a tread water game against being sucked into the next league down.
Then there are the new ‘middle’ teams, run with the same frugality, but pimped out to advertise the corporation that owns them, exploited on every level including fan loyalty to channel high tv rights, gate receipts and advertising revenue straight through and out the other end without touching the sides. Learning the hard way how to keep away from relegation (profit) disaster, and skilfully avoiding accidental cup runs (poor, cheap squad depth exposed by heightened injury risk) and European competition places ( not able to compete with the top clubs to a meaningful degree to earn cl, cash and also loss of advertising rights).
8th -15th every year ad nauseum I’d what your cheap season ticket will buy you. Middle of the road entertainment for the ignorant and loyal masses. Look at the last few years tables, you can see what they are driving for. It would also explain Pardew’s bizzare runs of incredibly inconsistent wins and losses streaks.

Comment #10Is that an official account though? In any case it didn’t need saying it’s obvious he was surplus to requirements with two cheaper options managing that position quite well. He did himself no favours getting injured when he did. Poor lad. Wish it was Dummett going.

Comment #13I’ll be missing Santon. By far our best LB and he would fit nicely into the more attacking way Carver has us set up.
…all we can wait for now is Janmaat or Haidara to pick up injuries – I will probably be grinning a bit if that happens.
You would really think those who are running NUFC are taking a pi$$ at us 😉

Comment #14Tsunki – agree, we are the new Stoke – minimal spending but do enough to stay in league, eventually we’ll become Bolton when we can’t do just enough , have a crap squad and languish in the championship. Fatty will be hoping he’s made his money back and we probably are well on our way to having championship wages. We only need Collo, Tiote off the wage bill and we won’t have a player earning more than 40k a week on our books

I always defended Simmo in his last 2 seasons here he was solid but got lambasted for not being attack minded.
He was a reliable 7/10 PL right back that defended his flank well with HBA going free radical in front of him.
Santon used to get caught flat footed too often. never got close enough to his man to quell the threat.
Shameful to let a player leave and have absolutely nothing coming in. Even if its not another LB.
Squad needs a huge rebuild again in the summer. As Cisse will be approaching 30, Jonas and Raylor will be gone. Saylor has probably had it now which is a shame as he is quality on his day.
Colo will be past it, though I do still rate him unlike most on here.
And the less said about Willo the better.
Sammy will be gone, dont think he’s done enough to get a new contract just yet.
Gouffran is pants.
I reckon we’ll need the following come summer:
2cbs, 1 FB cover, 1/2 strikers, a LW, possibly a new RW and maybe even another CM.

Comment #24I rated santon highly and is my favorite LB from all we had but looking at haidara’s performance against hull, santon may not get playing time here, so leaving nu may be the best option for him as well as nu..
But still don’t expect any incoming!!

Comment #25Scottiedog…No, Santon is not being sold, he is being loaned out with an option for Inter to buy.
There is actually nothing good about this, since we are short of numbers in defence and regardless of age/contract he’s our best LB.
Was this happening because he had better options and more numbers then it would be an entirely different story.

When we first went in for Santon I was living in Spain , and an Italian journalist on holiday with his young son , that I met in a cafe , told me that it was well known in Italy that Santon’s knee was shagged.
One assumes Inters management at the time also knew it – could this be payback time?

Comment #27Transfer Depression day in full swing.
I believe the Chloe Sanderson tweets, this is exactly what the club do, remove wages while raking in a loan fee, and include a clause that forces the club to buy after so many games.
They just cannot pass up an opportunity to rake in some more money.
Will they appease the fans then by bringing in a striker and CB?
Hhahahahahahhahahahhaha!
Santon had to go so that Ashley could fund this new loan for Rangers. Job done.

I am glad somebody else can see that!
There are only two ways it could go. He asks to leave or the club ask him to go as a result of another teams approach. the latter has clearly happened.
It would be a total non-story if it wasn’t for the fact that the club appear not to want to sign anybody and it a place in the squad has been freed up.

Even if tweet is correct I would also be unhappy as a professional footballer to have my wife get involved.
Recall Shane Long’s wife chatting on some afternoon show about transfers and stating no way was she ready to leave her home and suggesting that was that. Few months later he turns up at Hull – presume they are now separated

If it is well known in Italy why would an Italian club, the same one he left, come back in for him. I am pretty certain they would know about it still, especially as some of the same coaching staff are still with the club. Not to mention their Head Physio
