Sky Sports and other news outlet have reported that as many as six of Newcastle’s fringe players – Gael Bigirimana, Shane Ferguson, Kevin Mbabu, Remie Streete and Haris Vuckic. will be sent on loan to Rangers FC – in an effort to help Rangers get promoted to the Scottish Premier League, via the four club playoff format.
And Newcastle have just confirmed this news.
Mike Ashley – deals between his two clubs
Mike Ashley is in control of both Newcastle and Rangers, so we suppose he can basically do what he likes, especially because SFA rules have no restriction on cross-border loan deals.
That will give those players some first team football, and the previous news was that Curtis Good could have been one of the players – but that hasn’t happened and that’s good.
We have already lost Steven Taylor so we are a bit short of central defenders – and we have only two experienced center-backs in Colo and Willo.
So we are short of back four players and especially central defenders – which is why it’s good we have kept Curtis at the club.
We have been one center-back short all this season, after we sent Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa to Roma, and that deal was made permanent earlier in the week.
And Steven Taylor picked up his Achilles injury and now out for the rest of the season.
The news has been coming in all night that a mega-loan deal was being negotiated between Ashley’s two clubs, to send Newcastle players north of the border.
This deal will mean we have let back four players – Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Davide Santon and Remie Streete – all leave the club, and we lost Steven Taylor to injury in early January – so that’s four back four players we have lost in the last five weeks.
When we initially wrote this article, we thought Curtis Good would be one of them, so it’s good (excuse the pun) that he was not allowed to go out on loan.

Comment #7I think it would be reasonably possible for a consortium of a few people coupled with fan backing to take over the club.
With FFP having a single, super rich owner, isn’t that helpful unless you already have a solid footing in the top level of finances to let him hide his involvement in additional funds.

Comment #8The way players are flying out the door, there’s gonna be nobody for the Head Coach to coach!
Can we expect Carver to be declared redundant soon?

Comment #9Its FCB – it will all be smoke and mirrors. I doubt the SFA will have a clue what is going on, maybe the English FA would be able to help them – if only they knew what was happening!!

Yay. How privileged do we feel that sissoko wasn’t sold. What a coup that is, keeping OUR player. Ever so grateful, thanks mikey your the bestest.
That’s how they EXPECT us to react because THAT’S how “managed” our expectations have become under this dictatorship. Some gulp down the guff though.

Comment #22RandR, that was a guesstimate including loan repayment so happy to bet the mars bar 🙂 but only if it’s a who’s closer bet.
I also believe and I’m sure Tsunki touched on it earlier, when he leaves and we party in the streets we’ll be left with hugely diminished club compared to what Ashley originally bought. We are aware of some land sale and some other in progress but we’ll also be left with lasting legacy such as a “10 year free tat shop advertising” clause etc …..

Did you not see what he just did with USC?
He put it into administration, then bought back the corpse.
Sage,
I decided not to wait up either. In about 2011.
And, at the end of another transfer window, can I just record the fact that a new management team is not in fact in place “well before the end of the window.” Or indeed at all.
More egg on the faces of those “shyte-talkers” I guess….

yes, USC, shocking situation and to think his actions were all legal. So you think he has a similar fate lined up for us or (what I’d have thought) Rangers?

I was talking only of bills’ latest transfer window prediction. A gauntlet thrown down with his usual abuse and misplaced self-confidence. I bet he’s back in the summer again. His brass neck even shinier.

Why ashley can’t own newcastle and rangers together?
I think Udinese and Watfords owners are same. Similarly Roman owns Vitesse, Chelsea and CSKA
