It wasn’t rocket science to suggest some MLS teams would be very interested in taking Ben Arfa to America, and one thing they love with their soccer players over here (it’s called soccer to differentiate it from American Football), are those like former Newcastle player Hatem Ben Arfa – who have skills galore.
Hatem Ben Arfa – skills galore – they’ll love him in US
It didn’t make much sense for Ben Arfa to announce he was leaving Nice because he couldn’t play for them this season, without having something else lined up, since he is again a free agent.
And Manchester City’s farm club New York City FC, is reported as being interested in taking the player.
That’s the club that Frank Lampard joined last summer, after ending his Chelsea career, only for him to be shipped back to England to play the full season on loan at Manchester City.
The news is being reported in L’Equipe and they say that Ben Arfa is already in talks with the football club.
It’s also good timing because the MLS season kicks off over in March – so the Frenchman could be playing as early as March and training well before that if he signs up soon.
New York City FC will play in the sky blue strips of the Manchester City club, and will play their home games at the famous Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
That’s because New York City FC is a joint venture between the Yankees and Manchester City, and it would offer Ben Arfa some great opportunities to show his skills in America.
And he only has to show them the video of the two goals he scored at St. James Park against Blackburn and Bolton in 2012, to show them the tremendous individual skills the Frenchman possesses.
This potential move also explains why he didn’t want to wait until next season to play for Nice, and Frank Lampard and David Villa are already two excellent players on the roster in New York.

Comment #1That would be funny. HBA doing a Lampard and playing for City.
Oh forgot. He’s lazy and not good enough.
I think he’d cut it.

Exactly! Grasping at straws from boydonegood in his defence of the slugs reign of terror when there is none to be found. (I inserted his name in the repost as you’ve just said the same to welsheagle9)
Why would anyone especially a NUFC fan go to such great lengths to condone what’s gone on? Strange to say the least.
I’m all for differing opinions and having a discussion on ALL things Newcastle but there comes a point when you suddenly realise what they say is infact billy bullshit and no longer wish to waste brain function on opening up their stance “like a can of beans”

Comment #3If we are so tight with finances etc, it does raise the question as to why Ferrerya’s loan hasnt been terminated. Imagine there is a cost for doing so early or are they hoping when this “mystery back” injury clears up that he’ll come into contention.
Have to admit when we signed him i thought he’d be ahead of Riviere in terms of our striker options.

Comment #4On the streete article about signing for rangers full time. That’s the icing on the cake isn’t it for the slug. Send one of our brightest prospects to rangers for nothing and then when his contracts up they get him for free. The crossover is happening already people. We are now the feeder club for rangers. Pathetic.

I know exactly how you feel mate. It beggars belief sometimes. Now it’s you hounded the inept one our and got Carver. Does he not understand that the regime is to blame for this, they have lied to us over and over again, even though we all knew what would happen.
Due Diligence on prospective targets, who ever heard of such a thing. Maybe it’s time to inform him that Carver is for the long term and give it time to sink in.

Comment #6I can see Fergs signing for Rangers in the summer regardless of whether they go up or not.
Hearts will still win the league, it’s between Rangers and Hibs for who will play the SPL side in the playoff final.
I dont like Rangers anyway, so hope they fail but at the same time i want our players to do well.

i suspect jonas will be gone and maybe vukic but i can honestly see the same excuses from the club at the end of the season in we have a full squad we cant buy unless we sell first.
