Papiss Cisse has been great for us this season, and it’s hard to know where we would be in the Premier League if it wasn’t for his 11 league goals in only 18 appearances.
Papiss Cisse – after scoring on Saturday
There’s only 24% of Newcastle fans in our poll who think we can win this game, although Manchester United have been up and down in their form on the road this season, and they have 16 points from their 13 road games.
Newcastle will have a chance to pick up something from the game, but only if the defense plays well and keeps things tight at the back, like we did on Saturday in the 1-0 win against Aston Villa.
This is what Papiss Cisse has said today about tomorrow night’s game:
“It’s a big game, but it won’t be easy. “We had to get ready quickly to be fresh from the Aston Villa game – the matches are coming quickly.”
“All the players are happy to be playing in this game.” “It is Manchester United – it’s a great fixture to be involved in and we are all looking forward to it.”
It would be good if we picked up some points tomorrow night, and we are now 5 points short of what would be safety and 40 points.
With 11 games left in the season we should be safe enough, especially if we can get a draw or even another famous win tomorrow night.
This is also a great chance for John Carver to show the powers that be at Newcastle (Mike Ashley and Lee Carver) that he has the ability to beat a top coach in Louis van Gaal, and a top side in Manchester United – one of the most famous and successful clubs in world football.
What do you think?

Anthony Taylor is one of the stand out referee this season.I have seen him several times he is good referee, that’s why he was chosen to lead the league cup final last Sunday too.So it’s good to see him lead our game 2moro as well!

Comment #2Off topic I see we may get a result from the SFA hearing today in respect of Mr Tubbs involvement with Rangers. It will be interesting to see what he dos if he is found guilty.

Comment #5JT..Now now, let’s not forget that a thumping for us is a thumping for Ashley. He cares about us, he really does.

Comment #7Tuff…Thanks for that. The last bit sounds awfully familiar…
“We note that his parting comments are entirely in keeping with his behaviour during his time at the club. His lack of ambition or ability, rampant self interest, contempt for shareholders and fans, and disastrous dearth of understanding of the position of responsibility he held will be his legacy.
“He will be remembered as one of the most inept and embarrassing chairmen of our wonderful sporting institution. Our focus now turns to the remaining directors. They should do the right thing, appoint the nominee directors and then follow Mr Somers out of the door.”

Comment #10Go for it Carver and play Riviere, Perez and Cisse up front along with Sammi.
Lets have a go and run at their defence
Three quick speedy players and Cisse the goal poacher could cause them problems. defenders don’t like quick speedy players running at them along with sissoko running from deep.
My team: 4-3-3
Krul
Janmaat, Colo, Williamson, Hiadara (Taylor)
Abeid, Sissoko, Sammi
Perez, Cisse, Riviere
Or go 3-4-3
Janmaat, , Williamson, Colo
Abeid, Sissoko, Taylor, Sammi
Perez, Cisse, Riviere
Be brave carver
We are safe now so lets go out and enjoy it – give the crowd something to shout about – win loose or draw

Comment #11I am usually not One for takling about Rangers, but if they honestly think they are better off with Dave King than the Fat One then all I’ll say is good luck with that 🙂

Comment #13I’d love to see us win but if it increases Carver’s HC job chances, I’d rather we drew at best!
Shameful I know but….
