Daryl Janmaat, Ayoze Perez, Jack Colback, Jonas Gutierrez and Moussa Sissoko are about the only four players getting the votes in our Player of the Season poll, with Daryl already taking a sizable lead.
Daryl Janmaat in action last Sunday
And we thought Jonas would be up there in the voting even though he only played 11 times for Newcastle with one sensational goal last Sunday, when he was Europe’s best player on the last weekend of the season – what a way to finish your Newcastle career!
We want as many fans voting as possible, so we have a good cross-section of fans.
Please vote if you haven’t already done so.
Who Was Newcastle's Player Of The Season?
- Janmaat (55%, 2,685 )
- Perez (19%, 926 )
- Colback (16%, 799 )
- Gutierrez (6%, 294 )
- Sissoko (3%, 164 )

I’ll do it for you.
I taught English to foreign students for some ten years and my knowledge of grammar is pretty good.

What did you use to write it? The grammar checker in MSWord is pretty comprehensive.

Comment #44There is no point in taking delusional positives because Mashers held a crudely rehearsed interview because Charners wasn’t up to the task.

I’m over 60 and feel I could be an asset at SJP. However, I also haven’t seen anything that shows I could be considered as a signing.

Yes I do use MSWord but it doesn’t always get the words in context with the storyline. Also one of my main characters is a Geordie speaking as one. I actually find the Geordie translation programme really good for his speech.
Mag52, thanks for the offer but my missus is very good, I just wanted to try and make it less of a chore for her.
Belfast, 50 Shades Of Grey, oh to have that sort of success. 🙂

Comment #48McClaren to accept a third approach? Will work with the current team?

Comment #51Arsenal were well worth their win, the Villa fans were getting a bit upset at some of the refs. decisions but I doubt if it made any difference to the result.
I couldn’t see anyone in the Villa team that would be worth us bidding for other than Vlar.
One of the commentators made a point of saying that they are a selling team. Much like us I suppose.

Looks like we could be cherry picking the perfect combination from the football gene pool.
No-one could say Ashley hasn’t delivered on his word. He did say he was looking for a carthorse.
I hope this prospect terrifies the rest of the Premier League as much as it terrifies me.

Cheers mate, the first three chapters of my first novel are free to read on Amazon if you are interested. You will see what I mean by my poor grammar and I have massively revised it.
It’s titled ‘The Norway Mission’ just hope Ed is ok with my mentioning it.

Comment #54BandB…I tend to think that the rest of the Premier League will not be quite as terrified as you, or I, or any Newcastle fan.
To be fair, it doesn’t matter who we bring in, with Carver as their number 2, where could we go wrong?

Not sure what you mean by that comment, but it has undertones of the ‘Darwin awards’

it could be worse we could be linked with
curbishley and a list of other managers not worked in an age that are all past there best
while McLaren is not the best he aint is a step up from the rock we found pards under

I’ve gone beyond caring. There will be 52K in the ground for the first game to give him a chance and when/if he doesn’t get a win for seven games the fans will be blackmailed into getting behind the team again. I’m done.

He has just proven himself to be deceitful and disloyal, he has been sacked from the last seven of eight jobs, he serially cheats on his wife and is famous for being a wally with a brolly not to mention his stupid Dutch accent. You think he’s a step up.

we know were not going to get an honourable person at the helm because of our illustrious owner
can u imagine Sherwood coming out and peddling ashleys crap
so because of our owner the pool of managers is going to be limited we might some ok footy with McLaren
but until Ashley goes nowt will change
a new manager is often a time for improvement and optimism I don’t really feel any if that

It could be worse. Never thought I’d hear that from you mate lol.
That’s some lowering of expectations where people would be glad of shteve because other shittier managers names haven’t been mentioned. Yet anyway.
Not calling you out nor is it intended as a dig I just feel that his abysmal appointments have led us to this point now where we’d be happy with anyone bar Carver.
Set us up perfectly imo.

Comment #64It’s good to see the club have a clear idea of the type of manager they’re looking for.
It’s down to McLaren or Viera? Could they be more opposite in what they bring?

Comment #65I’d personally rather have an untested, untried development manager over smoghead shteve.
At least he’d bring something different and would probably stick the nut on honest john just for being a twat.
We want Patrick 😉

Comment #66If we want to win things, then hiring a natural-born winner would seem a sensible first step.
Let’s hope this Viera story has legs.
Ashley must see that his “new leaf” can’t look suspiciously like his old leaf.

Comment #67What is worrying is it has taken them six months and all they have come up with is McClaren or Viera.

Get the lot of them out.

Carver Out
Stone Out
Everybody OUT!

Comment #69Steve McClaren won the Treble and league title all 3 years he was assistant manager at Man Utd, won the league cup and got to the UEFA cup final with Boro and won the Dutch league with Twente and for Boro and Twente they were these club’s first ever successes. he was unluckly not to win promotion with Derby in his first season and has managed England. there’s not many managers with this amount of experience and success but his image seems to detract from these things.

Comment #70This is exciting stuff and if true, shows that the club is thinking creatively. And that in itself is a serious development. Sissoko will become a monster! Exciting news if true and clearly something that most fans will welcome. We need a personality. We do not need a scout running the football club

Comment #76Patrick Viera should be nowhere near consideration. Despite having some of the best young players in World football (due to City’s wealth) at his disposal, his Man City U21 team came 5th in their league – below Sunderland who beat them twice (sounds familiar!). They won 10 & lost 9 of their 22 games with a +4 goal difference. Pretty shabby when you consider the wealth of talent he was working with! No thank you!

Your source sir is incorrect. They were referring to Vera the Geordie female detective. I will vote for her as she does a canny accent for a southerner.
