Newcastle Want To Sign Young Dutch Sensation

There is a report that Newcastle are interested in signing 21 year-old Feyenoord winger Jean-Paul Boetius, who joined the Dutch club when he was just six years old back in 2000.

The talented winger picked up his first and only cap so far for Holland last year in March, in a friendly game against France at the Stade de France in Paris.

Jean-Paul Boetius – 21 year-old Feyenoord winger

Newcastle probably hope to get a good deal on the youngster, since his contract runs out next summer.

He has played 96 times for Feyenoord over the last three seasons, with 20 goals and 17 assists. and he has played 26 times with four goals (combined) for the Holland U17, 19 and U21 sides.

Newcastle have already signed Gini Wijnaldum from PSV ten days ago, and we now have five Dutch Internationals in the squad, and if we can sign this promising young winger then that will make it six.

Jean-Paul plays on the left wing and he is valued at around €5M (£3.5M) on the transfermarkt.com web-site.

It may be that Newcastle have turned their attentions to the 21 year-old, after missing out on long term target 22 year-old Florian Thauvin of Marseilles.

Newcastle have been unable to agree a fee for the talented Frenchman with his French club, and may have decided to move on.

In March, north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were both said to be anxious to sign the Dutch international, who can also play on the right side, and the fee at that time was said to be £5M.

The report of Newcastle’s interest is in GOAL,  so we don’t know how accurate the story is – but Chief Scout Graham Carr has been scouting in Holland last season.

We cannot find any reports in Holland or in England on Newcastle’s interest in this player – so maybe take it with a pinch of salt.

But after signing Mitrovich today – even if Tottenham and Arsenal are interested and we are really keen on the 21 year-old – Newcastle could still be in with a chance of getting him to Tyneside.

Here’s some video on the player they call the young sensation.

Fulham in for Rob Elliot I see for a mill. He’s third choice now and with Woodman coming through, A good move I think for the lad

Let’s face it the Dutch international side is a good few places higher than England in the ratings league – so their internationals should all be quality players.

We should keep Elliot as 3rd choice and loan Woodman out because if Krul or Darlow get injured we would back to throwing Woodman in at the deep end like Alnwick last season

For the sake of 1 million ! Pretty sure Elliot would be happy to be 3rd choice

    1mill for Elliot, done!

Loan Woodman out and bring in Harps as a 3rd choice with a coaching role.

I’d rather we turned our attention to strengthening our defensive line than going for Austin. I don’t think he’s worth 15 mil

    “get rid of Obertan”

I think he is a decent squad player at least for now. he seems happy not to play much and in some matches early last season I thought he played his best ever football. useful experienced player to have as backup IMO until the squad is significantly improved.

I agree mate. Lets get the clear out started for the fresh blood.
as for the injuries that ravaged the keeper dept last season, No one could have for seen that and would have decimated most PL teams.
And im sure Elliot himself stated he wanted more game time last season and was looking to move on if this couldn’t be gauranteed

Ben yedder would be a great signing,, don’t think either darlow or Elliott would see themselves as 3rd choice,, wouldnt begrudge elliot becoming Fulhams first choice and making a career for himself and hopefully get a promotion,, always spoke well when interviewed..

Cant get to grips with the way this transfer window is unfolding, were going about things in a logical and informed manner.
A talented winger would be logical next step, they probably need to shift a CB before they can buy one.
We dont need a striker unless Cisse is sold,if he is Austins an obvious choice since he is English and is pritty much the same as Cisse.
As for CB they will probably go Dutch lol

Obertan has not got the first clue about football.
He’s fit and athletic granted but he hasn’t got any idea about footy.

According to the Chronicle we haven’t given up hope of signing Thauvin yet. I think I’d take Thauvin over the young Dutch lad going by how each is rated. I think some people think Thauvin is Cabella mark 2 but that’s unfair to both. Cabella came into a terrible set up and struggling team and wasn’t played in his favoured position. Thauvin is his own man and is more of a set piece, ball playing winger.

I’d very much like to see Obertroan and Marveaux gone, and as much as I’ve liked him throughout his career, I’ve ran out of patience with STaylor, that ridiculous elbow against MCity that time was the final straw for me, say what you will but I would have Williamson in the squad way over him.

This injury to Cabella could be a blessing in diguise for the lad.
The club cannot move him on and he’ll be back to full fitness just as the Winter injuries start kicking in.

    TP,
Now that we have what I hope is a Mitrovich/Perez partnership I think Cisse will be very handy to have around, Austin will want to be a regular starter where as Cisse as got no choice but to fight for his place, this makes players better, something we have been missing for a long time.

Doesn’t matter where Cabella was or wasn’t playing, enough with the excuses for him. Throughout the season you’d like to think he’d show more quality than he did, when you ask fans about Cabella they keep pointing to Chelsea away where he was worked out in 45mins and didn’t score or assist & Hull away.

Playing in the wrong position has nothing to do with being piss poor at shooting, missing sitters, not being able to create chances and doing stepovers when not required slowing down attacks and letting the opposition reorganise. Get rid of him

just looking at the stats I didn’t realise that 23 of Obertan’s 53 appearances were in the 2011/12 season when we came 5th. I can’t remember that but he must have been doing something right that season at least?

Yeah we would be getting accused of having multiple accounts and all that !! My previous account was Santon the new Maldini its the only other one I have used!!

Yeah I would prefer us to spend 15 million on a top drawer defender to be honest as well as Mbemba

Obertan and gouffran both are shite but I’d rather keep Gouffran as he’s done ok considering the amount he was bought in for. Obertan though isn’t as versatile as Gouffran.

Elliott needs to stay, 1m no thanks we all remember Alnwick last season let’s not be in that position again.

Im thinking the club want to cash in on Cisse he’s at the age. The ever important resale value! He would be good for back up like and competition for places.
