Newcastle Want To Sign Young Dutch Sensation

There is a report that Newcastle are interested in signing 21 year-old Feyenoord winger Jean-Paul Boetius, who joined the Dutch club when he was just six years old back in 2000.

The talented winger picked up his first and only cap so far for Holland last year in March, in a friendly game against France at the Stade de France in Paris.

Jean-Paul Boetius – 21 year-old Feyenoord winger

Newcastle probably hope to get a good deal on the youngster, since his contract runs out next summer.

He has played 96 times for Feyenoord over the last three seasons, with 20 goals and 17 assists. and he has played 26 times with four goals (combined) for the Holland U17, 19 and U21 sides.

Newcastle have already signed Gini Wijnaldum from PSV ten days ago, and we now have five Dutch Internationals in the squad, and if we can sign this promising young winger then that will make it six.

Jean-Paul plays on the left wing and he is valued at around €5M (£3.5M) on the transfermarkt.com web-site.

It may be that Newcastle have turned their attentions to the 21 year-old, after missing out on long term target 22 year-old Florian Thauvin of Marseilles.

Newcastle have been unable to agree a fee for the talented Frenchman with his French club, and may have decided to move on.

In March, north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were both said to be anxious to sign the Dutch international, who can also play on the right side, and the fee at that time was said to be £5M.

The report of Newcastle’s interest is in GOAL,  so we don’t know how accurate the story is – but Chief Scout Graham Carr has been scouting in Holland last season.

We cannot find any reports in Holland or in England on Newcastle’s interest in this player – so maybe take it with a pinch of salt.

But after signing Mitrovich today – even if Tottenham and Arsenal are interested and we are really keen on the 21 year-old – Newcastle could still be in with a chance of getting him to Tyneside.

Here’s some video on the player they call the young sensation.

Too many trigger fingers.first on the shipping out list should be Willo, Gouff and Rivière. In the been de want sometimes category below Obertan and Marveaux. Colo splits opinion but if we get 2 new CBs ship him out and have Lascelles Dummett Good in reserve. Cisse and Tiote to be kept. Yeah Cisses approach play is shite but still a goals to games machine off the bench

    let’s try another stat ..

Obertan started 8 premier league matches last season, we won 4 and drew 1 of the first 5, the next we nearly held Man U and lost the last 2 when things were falling apart.

Cabella and Thauvin is different types of players.

Cabella is more like Nasri and Thauvin is more like Sterling.

    j,
Obertrawn is the worst player or at least my most disliked player in my history of watching the toon, I can’t think of anyone who made more than five appearances who is worse and doesn’t have a face like a slapped ar$ e.

If this kid was that good Koeman would have signed him for Southampton ages ago.

Time to look at a different market maybe?

On Cabella. I think he deserves a chance. Come on guys it’s not like we were playing attractive football last season which Cabella needs to get the best out of him. Give him a chance. He is probably the most technically gifted player in our squad. Hope he can recover soon and prove how good he is.

I will stick up for Mike Williamson too as he’s put a shift in for the club over the last few years through some difficult times. may not be the best but doesn’t get injured much and probably not paid a lot.

    j,

The thing with Williamson, he has done some pretty alright work for this club. But now and again he does things that just makes you wonder if he really is a footballer.

Further, if we look at taking this club forward, that would mean probably signing at least one CB, possibly two. Then for me it is clear that Colo, if he stays and also Staylor is ahead of him. Then we also have Lascelles and a whole hoard of young prospects that sooner or later needs to be given a chance.

Bottom line, thanks for the service but it is time to go.

I still think Cabella have potential unlike Gouffran, Riviere and Obertan.

But potential is not performance so a deal can certainly made where we get most of our money back and find someone else that will suit this league and our team better.

    Jail,

Tiote, one of your favourite players, I used to agree, got his name on my top.

Still, where do you see him in the team this year? Starter instead of Colback or Anita, or a backup?

If as a backup, is it not better to cash in and keep Abeid for that backup role?

probably add Dummett do the list of CBs. don’t think Williamson can be a regular for 5 premier league season and be that bad though. not saying he should be starter especially if reinforcements arrive but Williamson could fill in if called upon (when 3 are injured or suspended).

Dummet yes, time for Good to be given a chance maybe? Two years ago Good played in the League cup final with Bradford, I know he has been injured, but how can he not be given a chance, at all?

Yes Jane, I haven’t a clue why after signing 2 players to a paper thin team so many bloggers want to shed so many players who make decent squad players and are happy doing so. Also, though Rivi may never make it in the team now, I wouldn’t write him off based on a few performances within a squad playing like shite. He definitely works hard and has a better touch/dribble than Cisse.

We had the second worst defence in the league last season.

Only QPR shipped more goals than us. And they got relegated.

So we are going into this season with worst defence in the Premier League.

Then was one of our best players until he got injured agaist liverpool/tottenham? Which until he came off was our best player i would def keep him unless we can get mor than we paid for him perfect player for cups europe etc and he has never wanted out

Yes Cabella one of the worst signings in the prem last season, I didn’t say Riviere because french media had already said he’s pants amd we over payed for him. Cabella on the other hand we payed alot for so for his apparent ability he was the biggest disappointment.

Hugo Viana was a gifted youngster we payed alot for when Sir BR was manager but just because you are gifted doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll make it or be a good player. Cabella desperately needed to have a good pre season but his injury will hamper him, he’ll need to improve every facet of his game though and improve it big time

Fergie said he was the best player in training but he gets nervous in front of a crowd so he under performs. He’ll be better off at a QPR where 17k turn up

It’s too simplistic to blame a poor defensive record on the defenders. Similarly it is wrong to blame the lack of goals on poor strikers. The players were clearly not performing for J.C. and Pardew was / is inept.
Players have to believe in what they’re doing otherwise they will under perform. They did not appear interested for most the games I watched last season., with the odd exception. Too many players played regardless of performances because of; a lack of competition for places and poor organisation. These factors are more than likely the main causes of our dismal record at both ends of the park.

    Gentlemen

I am one of the very few on here that can see something in Obertan. The season we finished 5th, he had some outstanding games and last season before his injury, he was excellent.

Can you imagine a 433 with an in form and injury free Obertan and Aarons powering down their wings and getting quality crosses in for Mitrovic?

It is no beyond the realms of possibility.
