In last year’s fixture at the Etihad Stadium John Caver said his Newcastle team were going to attack City and give them a good game and he was gung-ho.
We were 1-0 down after 2 minutes and 3-0 down after 21 minutes and lost that game 5-0 in what turned out to be a pathetic performances and a warning of what was to come.
Michael Owen – predicts comfortable City win
Newcastle should do a lot better today but it depends on which team turns up and if we play well like we did against Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea we may be able to get something out of the game.
Former Newcastle striker Michael Own thinks it’s an easy home win for Manchester City:
“City are unbeaten in their last 17 PL games with Newcastle and the Magpies have failed to score in the last five games between the sides.”
“Sergio Aguero’s late winning penalty in the Champions League midweek could turn out to be a very significant moment in their season and I expect to see a comfortable home win.”
City are the heavy favorites to win this game and the last time we beat Manchester City away in a league game was back in 2000 when Alan Shearer got a late goal in the 1-0 win when Sir Bobby Robson was the manager.
With losing eight games in a row and getting only one win in the last 11 league games last season under John Carver Newcastle have only one league win and four draws in the last 18 league games played.
That’s the worst run in the Premier League ever and we have 7 points from the last 54 points played for.
🙁
If we do lose the game today our stats will not be good with only 3 points from the first eight league games – four points worse off than the same time last year.
At that time we had beaten Leicester 1-0 at home and had 7 points and were third bottom of the league table and one point behind Sunderland.

Comment #3So wow we are 1-4-15 in last 18 gms played and we still come out and give massive support home and away and this is the dish that they serve gross..
Problem is we still have much of the cancer of the terrible disease of losing we are suffering from but am confident in players with passion like MITRO,MBEMBA,JANMATT,PEREZ,WIJNALDUM to get us through this rough patch and hopefully by January can build some momentum add to squad finish out relegation battle finish as high as possible and look forward to next season after a few the names mentioned above have a year in PL under there belt and Macca has better grips on what he got

Comment #5if we are thinking of playing gouffran in centre mid we are nailed on for a thrashing. surely so many other options before playing a one time half decent striker there.

Comment #7it’s always nice to hear from Michael. I wonder if Mr Ashley has asked him if he has any horses he could bolt onto his cart?
Rotonda, Goofy or not, the thrashing scenario is still pretty much nailed on. 2 or 3 nil boys and girls. That’s not pessimism it’s just realism. If you don’t get caught up in the blue sky flag waving after the Chelsea game you’ll realise it’s just normal for a juggernaut to roll over you. I hope we give it a go though and keep it respectable.

Comment #8Wonder if Mikey O is on a “pay as u talk-crap” contract similar to the “pay-as-u-play” when he defected to Man United…..
