Liverpool have now won seven of their last eight games in all competitions and the only one that broke the streak was when they lost 2-1 at home to Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace just over three weeks ago.
And just to rub it in they dismantled Southampton 6-1 at St. Marys´ in the League Cup last night with Daniel Sturridge back from injury and he scored two first half goals.
Liverpool will be fielding a very strong side for their game at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
Don´t accuse Liverpool players of not trying or showing up for games
It´s not the game Newcastle really want after we have been taken apart by Leicester City at home 3-0 and Crystal Palace away 5-1 in the last two league games and are second bottom of the league.
New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will know we have the worst defense in the league and have already conceded 30 goals in our first 14 games.
If our players don´t turn up on Sunday against a rampant Reds side it could be a cricket score and it looks like we could again be taken to the cleaners on Sunday.
Klopp´s Liverpool don´t just get two or three goals up and then contain the opposition – they go all out for the full 90 minutes.
But strange things happen in life and in football.
We are hoping for the best, but another annihilation could see under pressure Newcastle manager Steve McClaren in serious trouble.
And not too many fans are expecting anything but a defeat on Sunday.
