Jonas today won his discrimination suit against Newcastle United – which we reported on earlier today.
Jonas has claimed £2M in compensation but another hearing is to be scheduled to determine the compensation.
Jonas was and is a very popular player at Newcastle United who had his very best game for the club when it really mattered – and he made one and scored one in our 2-0 win over West Ham last May.
Not only we he the Man of the Match on that day – but he was named the top player in Europe for that last weekend of the Premier League last season.
And Jonas is cheering on the lads to beat relegation this season.
Jonas Gutierrez – scoring his final gaol for Newcastle
Only five minutes remained of his Newcastle career
But we need more characters like Jonas in the side – and it seems like at the moment we have too many wimps playing in the side – unfortunately.
Congratulations to Jonas on another win!
Wonder if he sees himself as a coach in the future – maybe at Newcastle?
I am a geordie thanks newcastle fans for your support. I love The city. I hope WE stay up. Come on The toon. Once a geordie always a geordie

Comment #1Played Jonas lad. You couldn’t lend me a few quid could ya??
I gave Jonas grief a few seasons ago when he was struggling to make simple passes and not beating the first man with balls into the box but he always ran and ran and gave his bollocks for the cause.
Could do with a few % of his work rate for these deflated looking blowup dolls that call themselves professionals.

Comment #3Whatever the ins and outs of this case are, I don’t believe for one minute that DDA was established for the benefit of multi millionaire footballers. The world is mad.

Comment #4Marseille supporters played the Benny Hill theme tune inside the stadium the other day in protest at their owner. Would love to see the Toon Army do the same thing during a televised game.
Anyone got any ideas for a more appropriate tune? The Laurel & Hardy theme tune perhaps?

Comment #5Good, serves the club right for being such utter soulless bullies. For shame the way we’ve been run for absolute shame.

Comment #6Oh and the law for discrimination is for everyone, millionaire or not you deserve to be treated properly if you’ve had a serious illness. He’s not done this for the money it’s the principle and I for one applaud him for not just accepting it and standing up against such poor treatment. Jonas is such a nice guy I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t donate a large amount of that to charity.

Comment #7MA has spent more on transfer fees than any other English owner in History, and still in profit with it all, that said his other failings more than detract from the money spent, you have just got to get football people in to a club, Lee Charnley could be his biggest mistake along with old man Carr.

Comment #8It’s just a pity that our current crop of players find the strength to overcome adversity and show the guts that Jonas did when he, almost single-handedly save us from relegation last season.
