Newcastle’s Transfer Outlay By End Of Today – A Low Net Spend

By the end of today we expect Newcastle to have made quite a few announcements –  that Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie have both been signed from Crystal Palace and Bournemouth respectively.

That Fabricio Coloccini has been released and will join San Lorenzo, Andros Townsend has moved to Crystal Palace and Remy Cabella has been signed by Marseille in this the first official day of the summer transfer window.

Rafa Benitez – has plenty of money still to spend

If all that happens this will be the state of the transfers so far this summer with Newcastle spending a net of only £3.7M in the transfer window – and a lot more money still available for Rafa Benitez to spend this summer.

That’s six senior players out and three players in so far.

Three other players who could try to push for a move away are Moussa Sissoko, Gini Wijnaldum and Daryl Janmaat.

We wouldn’t be too sad to see Moussa leave if we can get £20M for him – potentially from Liverpool – but hopefully we can keep hold of the two Dutch Internationals.

But if they are going to be a pain then sell them – and we have to then trust that Rafa can bring in decent replacements.

Then we would have players who only want to be at the club – and the squad would still be strong.

It also looks like Rafa is willing to let veteran goalkeeper Tim Krul go – probably to Everton – so Rafa is also doing a  good job at managing Newcastle’s wage bill with some big money earners leaving the club.

What do you think?

Pleased to see a lot of work being done before pre-season has started. Logical work in progress.

The difference – one proper manager.

    Good things develop around him.

Ed, I’m no expert but I don’t think the income and outgoings on transfers are quite as simple because of Agent fees, sign on fees etc.

I can’t wait to hear Townsends reasons for leaving, if he starts spouting bollox about playing for England then he deserves all the abuse he gets when he comes back here. His only way of coming out of this is by saying it was for family reasons in his Z list celebrity gf wanted to move nearer to PRADA and Gucci.

I wonder how long it will be before Fab is actually fit enough to play for San Lorenzo? Remember he is still recovering from that horrific calf injury he sustained in the warm-down after the friendly he didn’t play in…

Townsend is an Eastender – he was born on the banks of the Thames
If London is such a pull for foreign players it must be 10 fold for Londoners

Moussa Sissoko and Gini Wijnaldum should go, they don’t want to be at The Toon, and we don’t want mercenaries, we want players that believe in the Club, the badge and the manager.

Jib – I always thought the club had to pay agent fees on top of the transfer fee but I don’t know so I’ll stand corrected – sorry Ed your table is correct 🙂

I don’t think Graham Carr’s wedge in the envelope handed over in the car park is generally included either

The overrated Frenchman – it is alleged that Carr has built a house in France with such money.
I don’t want to get drawn into a long debate but I think I was right according to this

I really and truly hope they sort the defence and central midfield out. Plus if sissoko and Wijnaldum go they are replaced. Same for tiote and Janmaat. Shelvey as well. I’d expect us to be far busier than the 6 mentioned.

Despite what the slimy Mr Llambias said.
In 90% of free transfers all parties tend to waive their fees .

I don’t know about Sissoko – it seems to be a different club each day.
However the Italian media say NUFC and Roma have an agreement in place for Wijnaldum and Roma are just waiting on sale funds to arrive.

martoon@13 -you are quite correct. It’s known as “Mondial Manor”. It has features such as the “Riviere” outdoor terrace and entertaining area, the “Thauvin” heated pool, the “Saivet” ensuite and dressing-room – it’s quite a gaff apparently.
