Soccer Sauce, which has a good record of predicting transfers is reporting that Newcastle have made a £5M bid for 22 year-old Celta Vigo full-back Jonathan Castro Otto.

Otto has played for all the Spanish youth sides including 9 times for the U21 side and Middlesbrough were reported to be after the young full-back – but that was a couple of years ago.
Although he only turned 22 in March he has already played 131 times for home town club Celta Vigo, with two goals and last season played 44 games for his La Liga club in all competitions.
Jonathan – called Jonny – made his La Liga debut for Celta Vigo first team in September 2012 at the young age of 18, starting in a 2–0 home win against CA Osasuna – a club Rafa Benitez once managed back in 1996.
Jonny has a contract with the club that runs out next summer.
The 5ft 9ins tall full back has played for Spain at U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels and he is comfortable at either right-back or left-back..
He was called up to the full Spanish side in May 2015 for a friendly with Costa Rica and a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying match against Belarus, but didn’t get a game.
The player looks like he’s a very good player in the making and would be a very good signing for Newcastle.
The player is very highly rated in Spain.
Newcastle are after three new defenders this week – two full backs and a center-back.

Does that mean we are close to signing a defender then if that report is true because the last few days reports have said colo can’t go until someone is in.

You looked on Barcelona news for news on this one?
Would I be wrong in suggesting that Celta Vigo’s based in, er, Vigo?
