Rafa Benitez has no problem when Moussa Sissoko comes back to Newcastle tomorrow to play the Frenchman Moussa until the right offer comes in for him – the right offer being from Newcastle’s viewpoint.
Rafa is no fool of course and he knows that both Real Madrid and Juventus – top football clubs in anybody’s eyes – are interested in acquiring the Newcastle midfielder.
But Newcastle continue to stress they will only sell when they get either club to match their valuation of the 26 year-old, which is said to be around £35M.
Moussa Sissoko in action for France at Euro 2016
If Paul Pogba is worth £100M then Moussa is easily worth £35M and that’s based on their performances for France at Euro 2016.
Moussa easily outshone Pogba in all of France’s final 3 games of the tournament – games when everything was on the line.
It’s thought that both the clubs are waiting on Paul Pogba being sold to Manchester United, before they will make their move for Moussa.
Juventus want Moussa as a replacement for Pogba and Real Madrid want Moussa also as a replacement for Pogba, because their very slim chance of getting him will have gone.
When asked about Sissoko’s future, this is what Rafa Benitez has told the Chronicle today:
“I sent him a message the other day.” “He answered it and was fine.”
“In football, you have to have offers – the right offers.” “Then we still have to say yes if it is the right offer.”
“At the moment we don’t have this offer on the table and we still have a good player with us.”
“He will come back and start training, then after we will see what is going on during the week.”
Sissoko is due to report back to Newcastle’s training ground at Benton tomorrow morning and he will be getting the usual medical tests that players get when they return from their summer breaks.
Newcastle will be holding an open day at St. James’ Park tomorrow and Moussa will not be attending that event.
Once Pogba’s deal to Manchester United goes through watch for real activity on Moussa’ transfer out of Newcastle – we hope Juventus and Real Madrid get into a huge bidding war for him.
More money for Newcastle.
🙂

Re your remark about Toney in an earlier thread, he does seem to be the forgotten man in the club. Doesn’t even appear in the official team listings of the club. Bit of a mystery!

Moussa shake it all about
Anyway, Rafa’s controlling this very skilfully in my opinion, unlike other instances of players ‘going on strike’ (how can that even happen?) for example. That’s not even a dig at AP who was in charge when Cabaye threw a hissy-fit, it’s just an observation of yet another facet of Rafa’s competence (again, in my opinion).

Re your earlier comment regarding Tello, appears to be surplus to Barca’s requirements. Must have something as they saw enough to buy him.
Might be worth a punt by us.

Comment #21On the subject of sissoko. How many times on the right wing has he tracks back, helped the right back, & won possession back for us, this is something that goes completely unnoticed. If you consider if he didnt track back, the attacker could have put in a good cross, & we could have even conceded.
The guy is a machine, & rafa ovbiously wants to keep him, but his attitude is stinkin & he’s open about wanting to leave newcastle.

Comment #39Saw an article earlier about the gallows ate flags, great idea, I’ve been in the SanSiro for The Nilan Derby and the flag display before kick off was an awesome sight.
Think the club should hand out some more free black & white scarves. I’m sure one of Ashley’s sweatshops could knock them out for pennies. The twirling scarves all round the ground is an amazing thing and would certainly put off or distract opposing teams. Helps keep the atmosphere up as well rather than people sat with their phones in their hands.
