Hopefully Newcastle can get off the mark on Saturday afternoon against Huddersfield Town and there will be a display of flags from the Gallowgate Flags group 30 minutes before the first home game of the season begins.
It’s Black and White Day and fans are asked to wear their black and white shirts and scarves to complement the display of flags throughout St. James’ Park.
It’s also going to be a sell-out for the game and to make everybody’s Saturday night a good one (well at least for Newcastle fans ) we need a win.

Comment #1Bit premature to call this a must win game I suppose, so let’s just say it is a mustn’t lose one. We again will not have our best side out there but you would have to think we’ll still win by a margin of two, and the atmosphere will of course be remarkable for a Championship match.

Comment #2Two losses is technically the start of a run 🙂 I have gone for a draw on this but really I hope we have the personnel turn up for sale hood win. We need it.

Comment #3Huddersfield will not be easy they have Klopp’s former assistant in charge and they play a high pressing game so will no doubt cause us some issues especially if we start with 3 defensive midfielders again!

Comment #5It’s certainly a should win game.
Though Ed’s winbar is already in shabby, disjointed, gutless performance territory.

Wait wait let me explain, every time I vote for us to win we lose so only logic suggest I vote for us to lose every time so we can win 😉

Comment #8It’s quite funny the analogy between Trump and Jib made on a previous thread. Both claim to speak for the majority. That’s possibly where comparisons end however.
Trump claims to be a ”unifier”, though his vision of that is to build a wall against mexico
and not allow muslims in to the US.
Trump also claims he will crack down on violence, yet at the same time actively encourages the gun lobby. Rant over.

Comment #9Watching Villa scoring an own goal and nearly a second, defending like schoolboys, outplayed by Luton, a crazed power- mad chairman – and we think we have problems!

Comment #10Off topic has anybody tried joining the blog fantasy football league? I just tried and it says the code is invalid – I suspect the one at the top of the page is last years and has not been renewed yet!

Didn’t Lewis used to post under his own name?
If so, I haven’t seen him post in a while and if he’s been pushing one for this season I haven’t seen it.

Personally I don’t think we have problems especially when seen from the fans of all the other clubs in this league.
We have a world class manager who is well liked by probably almost all the fans (there’s always some who are never happy).
We have more quality players than any other club in this league.
We have a happy fully committed squad of players.
We have financial muscle and don’t need to sell to spend.
We have a full stadium every home game.
We have probably the largest contingent of away fans in the league.
Every club has issues. Most clubs in this league would love to have our issues than their own.

Comment #13I dont think rafa employs a high press
Last season we didnt press until opponents were on the halfway line but that may be due to quality of opposition.rafa prefers compactness rather than pressing in groups i think.
