These Are Three Areas of Concern For Rafa Benitez

It was another shock result for Newcastle in the Championship last Saturday and this time it was at home to Huddersfield, a team not expected to challenge for a promotion place, but maybe they will be a surprise team this season?

Newcastle didn’t play well especially in the first half and we must get off to better starts in these games and the game like at Fulham we were 1-0 down at the break after conceding in stoppage time in the first half with some poor defending.

Rafa Benitez – three areas of concern

Rafa knows we have to improve in defense, but he also says Newcastle must improve in the middle and in the final third where again on Saturday we didn’t threaten enough when we had the ball and were attacking the Terriers in the second half.

This is what Rafa has said:

“We have to keep looking for players that can help the team to grow and make us better for the rest of the season.”

“It’s true that we didn’t have too many clear chances. I was concerned about that, even though we improved in the second half, when we were going to wide areas and we were trying to do something, but still it was not enough.”

“We have to improve in defense because we are making mistakes, we have to improve in the middle and move the ball quicker, and we have to improve in the final third because we were not precise.”

“We didn’t have enough good movement and the right patterns to our play. We didn’t do what we’ve been doing in training sessions during the game.”

“The players have to realise that we have to compete. We have a big squad and we have to compete and be ready for a very demanding competition, with two games a week.”

Rafa wants to bring in a creative player and a big striker like Aleksandar Mitrovic, before the transfer window closes two weeks on Wednesday.

We have been linked with wantaway Sheffield Wednesday attacking midfielder Fernando Forestieri, but it looks like it will be difficult to get the Owls to sell one of their best players in the next two weeks, especially to a promotion candidate like Newcastle.

And it will be interesting to see if Moussa Sissoko makes the bench on Wednesday against Reading.

Since no offers seem to be coming in for the 26 year-old French International, Rafa may have to think about how the big midfielder could help Newcastle win some games this month.

We had the second worst defence in the PL last season, yet
the back 4 were all part of that squad. Defenders were needed and signed, but not played. In fact 6 of last seasons
failures started the game – plus the pathetic Aarons.

It wasn’t the booing that got to me they got what they deserved for that pathetic gutless display.

It was when Huddersfield scored supporters left on mass with ten minutes to leave with at least 10/12 minutes of play left.

Should of got behind the team and tried to rouse them into getting a equaliser at least. But we the supporters were as bad as the team – APATHETIC!!!!

I missed the discussion about streams for the game earlier this week.
There is a difference between broadcasting and streaming.
TV companies with highlights packages send the live footage back for editing via satellite as a matter of course.
Unless we can sit across that satellite feed, which you can’t, you can’t intercept those pictures. Its only when matches are being broadcast live to air they can be streamed.
If the match is not being shown live somewhere in the world via a rights deal, the presence of cameras at the ground doesn’t mean there will be streams.

I have seen some Sh*te Newcastle teams in my days but I think I can confidently say that team that played on Saturday are the worst I have ever watched!!!

Also we were playing Huddersfield not Barca, playing one up front for starters was bad enough…..

Insists on playing Anita and not only that probably plays him in a role he is least effective in. The lad is not up to the English game, well he is for 1 in every 20!!!

The back 4 were horrendous to say the least but then thats nothing new from last year, Why is Clark not playing at Left back when we know Dummett is poo? Why dont we play Gamez when its blindinly obvious Janmatt is only good going forward….

Diame has never played off the front man in his life!!!

Ritchie was best player by a country mile V Fulham and then doesnt start him in a home game against supposedly weak opposition!!!

Rafa the saviour appears to be speaking to McLaren on a daily basis….. The 150-1 for relgation looks a good bet to me
