Things may change before the end of today with DeAndre Yedlin expected to sign for £5M, but so far Newcastle have made a profit of £12M in the transfer market with 8 senior players coming in and 13 bring sent out permanently or on loan.
Four of those players did not have their contracts renewed.
Daryl Janmaat – assuming it’s a £7.5M fee to Watford
This is the busiest transfer window for Newcastle in years as Rafa Benitez is completely rebuilding the Newcastle squad in just over two months.

Comment #47Tsunki. The notion of a united, grafting, uncomplicated championship team storming to promotion warms the cockles doesn’t it. The reality is, with every departing big hitter, and subsequent technically inferior replacement, you are reducing the margin for error, from a superior level team that only needs to click twice in 90 mins to a well drilled team going toe for toe and outfighting the oppo.. Janmaat, wini, sissoko etc. just need one moment of technical magic to unlock a championship defence and win a game for us. With every incoming lesser player we are levelling out the advantage in favour of the opposition.
Of course sissoko and wini (and the rest)were inconsistent. If they weren’t they wouldn’t have been at nufc in the first place. As much as it pains me to say it.

Sammy could well be fancying himself for a game shortly, and Vuckic has been injured and hopeless for so long he’s actually attained “just like a new signing” status in some of our much-lowered sights.

Comment #49Too fluent for Ketsy I think Brackley. Someone pointed out the similarity with Ian Toon, Blog Vicar. He has the same pious narrative tone.

Comment #50At one point I thought Sammy and Haris were both being summarily offloaded. It is baffling that they still haunt the corner of the training grounds.

Comment #51It’s great that we are brining all these new players & rafa is rebuilding, but I can’t help but worry there gonna take a while to gel in togther. Espically considering we’re still going out & buying.
I’m hoping rafa is building the depth now, so the following years he just needs to buy 1 or two quality players into a settle team.

Comment #52But Pat, they were the core of the team we depended on to keep us in the pl. Their attitude then us the same one that has them now rushing out the side door with hand luggage only into a taxi. How can they be a loss? They have no design to be part of a promotion chasing championship side so the question of loss is moot.

Comment #56Shadow – unfortunately this timetable is the hand Rafa was offered and took. We’re all banking on the man to know where he’s going and how to get there. We have no option but to sit tight and watch, infuriating and puzzling though it appears at the moment.

I think the guys are being a bit harsh on you. I can see your point and their point too however.
Would this current team beat spurs 5-1 like we did in may. I highly doubt it. But I think townsand..wini and the soon to be departed sissoko and tiote were the only big game changers

I had my phone flashed last week. Done my heed in getting my apps back, especially my cctv systems and Nest back up and running. But that predictive text that appeared was doing my napper. Had to turn it off.

Yedlin said: “Newcastle is such a big and historic club, and I’m excited to have the honour of playing for them. Hopefully I can do great things here.
“I’m excited to learn under Rafa Benitez as well. He has an amazing resume and I know he will help improve me a lot.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
