The following policies should be taken into consideration before commenting:
An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #1Wouldn’t mind us taking a look at a couple of the Chelsea lads in the summer to be honest. Tamy Abraham has really impressed me at Bristol City, and Izzy Brown at Rotherham has looked like a player in the making! Can’t see either breaking through at Chelsea!
Been really impressed by Atsu, seems a good character too! Chelsea’s reserves and out on loan players are ridiculous!

I really like Mitrovic and I’m sure we haven’t seen the best of him yet but I’m not sure he fits into Rafa’s long term plans. We know that Rafa prefers to play with one fast striker that can run in behind defenders and Gayle is Rafa’s signing who is playing that role.
Rafa didn’t sign Mitro and I don’t think he would have done. However he must have told him to improve his fitness and mobility which he’s done to good effect so we’ll have to wait and see if he likes enough now to keep him or decides to cash him and buy someone more like Gayle.

Comment #4pretty sure El-Mahnni is playing at u23 level?
Videos of tricks aside, not sure he’s lit the place up from what I heard? Few reports that his football brain and knowledge of when to pass/run etc is non existent

We have Mitro and Gayle and need a top quality proven striker not a forward line of hopefuls. Quality in tye summer. ST LW LB CB.

He signed Hanley though, the Fulham game at the beginning of the season showed you need to mix it up a bit. I think two very different strikers in the squad is a big advantage. I think Perez will be gone.

Comment #7We’ve had Mitrovic for a while now and he seems to be notching in at this level. I agree that he’s not a Benitez player, I think he will be little used next year and will probably make a move back abroad. Perez will be gone too I think. He’s not versatile enough to stop being cancelled out by rough tactics.

Comment #8And unless Sels makes a remarkable improvement, Rafa will be looking for a new number one. I don’t think he places either Darlow or Elliot as first choice.

Comment #10Tsunki – Kruls still on the books? What are your thoughts about him coming back and being number 1?

Comment #11Sels seemed to get worse with every clean shhet he kept which is bizarre. His nervous breakdown against Villa cost us all three points. I think we’d struggle to get our money back on him. He did look confident against Preston mind with his catching.

Comment #12Rafa has said that when Mitro plays, it requires a different style to when Gayle plays and can be an effective alternative . I still think he prefers to keep the ball on the deck though and use pace to get behind defences.
Most top teams now prefer to play it through even the most packed defence rather than put in the high cross.

Comment #13I agree that Perez will be moved on in the summer. I’ve said before that he’s a clever little goal poacher but not an out and out striker . Neither is he an out and out winger nor an out and out number 10. That makes him neither one thing nor t’ other.

Like I said the game against Fulham was a great example, a few reasons we didn’t play well, team just getting to know each other, taking teams for granted, no Shelvey? but what was apparent was they had snuffed out Gayle and we needed a big guy to lump the ball at.

Comment #15Think Sels would probably be a better premier league level keeper than championship. His shot stopping, coming out, distribution is premier league level, the problem is dealing with physicality and crosses. He’d get a lot more protection in the premier league to the championship. We’ve got a really good goalkeepers coach, no doubt they’ll be working with him at his weaknesses. The potentials there. Remember De Gea having the same issues early on at Man Utd

Comment #16Im not a huge fan of Perez starting. He’s pretty effective coming off the bench though in a solksjaer fashion! Seems like he’s got a stellar attitude too, would love it if he came good.
Think if he’s going to be around next season he needs to take the bull by the horns and make that behind the striker position his own in the second half of the season!

Comment #17Jail……… Yes OK maybe in the PL Mitro can be brought on to bring a physical presence when a defence is holding firm , a bit like West Ham use Carroll. I think it’s a shame though as he has more technical ability than Carroll but not yet as prolific a goalscorer .
As I said earlier I think he has a lot more to offer than we’ve seen so far but will he get enough chances to show it. You only get better at something by doing it regularly.
