Can Newcastle Beat Wigan On Wednesday?

The games are starting to come thick and fast and we are at Wigan Athletic in the Championship on Wednesday night, with most of the other games being played on Tuesday night.

After that we play at Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon in the last game before Christmas.

It would be great if we can pick up two wins in those two games and start another (very) long winning streak.

But nothing is ever certain in football as we have found out this season.

Warren Joyce – Wigan manager

Former Newcastle center-back Gary Caldwell was sacked as Wigan manager in late October and Warren Joyce is the new manager.

Joyce is the former Manchester United U21 manager.

Did anybody watch Manure on Sunday? Nice to see their fans showing their class by booing Fellaini when he was due to come on. Don’t like the guy myself but booing your own player because he gave a penalty away last week is just poor. Nice to hear the rest applaud the booing out though. He’s always been a marmite sort of player, but how do you expect a player to perform well when you’ re on his back before he steps foot on the pitch?

Hibbett, I will never complain about refs again when we’re back where we belong matey. 🙂 If this season has already taught me one thing, it’s that PL refs are nowhere near as bad as we make them out to be. The standard in this league is atrocious.

Can’t see Wigan beating us! They’re an attacking team, can’t really sit 11 behind the ball like our other defeats!
Burtons a tricky one! Very tricky! Really hard to beat at the Pirelli, the pitch is tiny too! One for mitrovic I think as theres no space in behind!
Burton have zero up front too, the striker is a big part of how the play but his goal scoring is non existent! Irvine is a big player running in from deep though!

So how big is the pitch at Burton Albion?
    Are there specified minimum sizes?
Are those sizes the same as, or smaller than, in the PL?
