Aston Villa are interested in Swansea winger Modou Barrow who has been informed by new manager Paul Clement that he can leave the south Wales club this month, as Clement tries to bring other players in to fight relegation.
Swansea had a magnificent 3-2 win at Anfield on Saturday – the first time ever they have won at Anfield and the first time ever they were not beaten at Anfield – quite a result!
They deserved the win and the Swansea side under new manager Clement looked so very well organized.
24 year-old Swansea winger Modou Barrow
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that the 5 times capped Gambian International winger Barrow has a release clause of £5M in his contract, but we’re wary of Newcastle being interested in the right winger.
Barrow has a lot of skill when we have watched him, but he tends to be inconsistent and drifts into and out of games, although we suppose if Rafa sees something in the player he could make him into a better player at Newcastle.
The Birmingham Mail report that Swansea are hoping to use Barrow as part of a player-plus-cash deal to sign Aston Villa forward 25 year-old Ghanaian International.
Barrow signed for Swansea in the summer of 2014 from Swedish club Ostersunds FK for about £1.5M and has been on loan at Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers since then.
Modou has played 51 times for Swansea with just two goals.
We’d be surprised if Rafa is interested in this player.
What do you think?

To be fair Rafa said at the outset that there was very little value to be found in the Winter window.

Football players must be one of the most stupid groups of individuals in the world.
It’s years since van Basten retired
What is so hard to grasp about a tackle from behind being illegal ?”
Jib – strictly speaking a tackle from behind is not illegal according to the rules of the game.

Comment #128Jazzy, I used to work sorting out drug treatment services, unfortunately what we are seeing is right, just wish it was showing elsewhere. Some of what is coming over that surprised me at the time is, most take to escape problems and not for the high. Just wish something could be done to sort and help all these guys out.

To be honest mate we spend a lot of time shopping around the centre before match day and have never noticed anything to the tune of what they are showing at the moment on tv.
Never realised it was such a big problem in Newcastle mate

Comment #134Isn’t someone trying to bring a law in on not allowing heading the ball. Bit far fetched but I’m sure I heard commentators on about it on sky sports yesterday
