Newcastle Fans React To Hayden Out For Half The Games Left

With the surprising news today that Isaac Hayden will be out for a month after undergoing surgery on his ankle, Newcastle fans have reacted to the bad news on Twitter.

That’s a massive seven games he will be out for and in that time we have to play at Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading in successive games.

And that means Isaac will miss almost half the season of the 15 games left.

Isaac Hayden – will miss 7 of last 15 games

Here are some of the tweets with a popular option being to play Chancel Mbemba in central midfield.

on topic Colback is a solid partner for Shelvey and will likely continue there Diame could play there but he’s our main number 10

And Mbemba maybe but I doubt it

    On topic

I really like Hayden and think he’ll turn into quite the player if he bulks up a little for next season so I’m really disappointed for him to have to go through an operation.

However, this might present some really exciting opportunities for playing Mitro AND Gayle up top with Diame dropping deeper (which I’ve been hoping to seem them together for a long time) or have Mbemba in a DM role. Both of those options are really exciting and I think whichever way this goes we could see some exciting new developments.

This also gives Anita a route back into the team since Yedlin has firmly planted himself as our first choice RB, although I’m more excited about either of the other two options. We’ll just have to see where Rafa takes this.

Jail, I don’t want to fall out, but I’m astonished you have an issue with the blog showing unity for Ed. Peronal messages are a nice idea, but football fans work better in a crowd.

Obviously not ideal but we’ve got options which may work better than Hayden. Our most important players have also missed parts of the season and we managed. Richie is also under threat to miss two important games with his next booking. Like every other team we have to work through these issues.

I doubt the team plan will be ripped up because Hayden is injured will be surprised if we don’t continue playing 4231

Though I hope we aren’t subjected to Anita CM again hes not got the ability to play there

Looks like you’re not too big on Anita either. He may be successful in this league but never seemed to cut it in the Prem which is where our focus really needs to be (prepping for next year).

If Colback gets banned (possible, he’s a yellow-card machine, roughly 1/2 games) or injured or goes through a difficult run of form, would you prefer Diame or Mbemba? You didn’t seem high on Mbemba there, why not?

Anita is better suited to RB.

Let Diame sit alongside Shelvey, it worked against Norwich 2nd half. Either that or try Mbemba there, we know Colback will be suspended soon enough!

Well if you see this hope you get better soon Ed and I like all of us on here wish you all the best.

On football Mbemba to partner Shelvey for me. Mbemba is a quick and classy player who reads the game well and has showed he can play well there for Congo, do for me it’s a no brainer.

Seems a no brainer to put Mbemba in at DM if Colback is injured or suspended, if there wasn’t so much at stake I’d like to give him a chance there regardless, he’s a much better passer of the ball.

I Thought Hayden was struggling the last few weeks and wondering if he had been carrying a injury a while.

Might be a blessing a few weeks off to sort the injury out.

We have able replacement in Colback and maybe try Mbemba in midfield – plays for his country and looks comfortable on the ball.

    Pity we are missing anita

    Anita cannot replace Hayden.

Anita is a ball mover. Thats why he failed because he was judged against being something that he isnt.

Him and Shelvey together can only work if we are dominating possession.

People hate the lad but Colback is the best option we have next to Shelvey. I prefer Hayden but i have faith that Jack can do the job for us in this league.

there is the Mbemba option but I dont think his positional play is there for this role. He tends to run out of position a lot and we cannot have someone doing that opening up holes in our midfield to be exploited.

The key thing is to ensure that this doesnt prevent Shelvey from doing what he does best.

it will more then likely be colback, then diame to play along side shelvey, but mbemba may get a few minutes at the back end of games just to keep colback and/or diame fresher with this run of games we have coming up….i would like to see what mbemba has to offer there tho, quick, strong and decent distribution last year mostly so hope we get to see him play sometime.

aarons needs a bit luck on his side and a good run of games….feel sorry for him but he breaks down many more times he could end up on the scrap pile…unfortunately.

This idea of Mbemba in midfield is getting some support.
Played there for his country etc but was it like for like. Did they play the same system we do.
Have to say I would be surprised if he had the passing necessary.
Makelele role in a 4/3/3 or in front of a back three perhaps.
But one of 2 in a 4/2/3/1. Not sure about that.

    Wenger going on the defensive
“It’s not like they’d won the European cup five times before I arrived”
Basically he’s the perfect manager for money men so they won’t sack him, if he doesn’t walk things might get undignified.

Nar can’t stand Anita in the middle mate decent back up RB though. I think he’d be worse in the centre in this league though as it’s tougher

If Colback is out id go Diame as for Mbemba I honestly have no idea what he’d be like as a CDM because I’ve not seen him there…i don’t think much of the quality in the ACoNs though haha

Maybe hed be great but I couldn’t confidently say he would be

Wenger’s contract is up in June.
    He’s 67
    Millions of people retire.
    Nothing to get undignifid about.
