Newcastle Transfer Target Makes Some Strange Comments

Andros Townsend was  a big hit with Newcastle fans when he joined us from Tottenham 15 months ago for about £12M and especially when Rafa arrived at the club last March he became our star man and played great.

But we didn’t make it and were still related, although we ended up with 37 points and 12 of those points came in the final six games of Rafa’s 10 games in charge of the team.

Rafa had sorted it all out but it was too late unfortunately.

The obvious chemistry between Andros Townsend and Rafa Benitez
Come back Andros!

And it’s now history that Andros for his own career decided to leave the club for Premier League Crystal Palace – hardly a big club with any great history in England.

This is what Andros has said in a Telegraph interview:

““I was at Tottenham and I’ve had all the loan spells and then I went to Newcastle and said ‘I want to stay here for a few years’ .”

“But unfortunately that didn’t work out and I had to move to stay in the Premier League.”Everything was so positive at Newcastle.”

It’s just the one negative that Newcastle) didn’t stay in the Premier League.”

“I was signed to help them stay up and it didn’t happen.” “The main thing I took from that is that a team is never too good to go down.”

“Maybe last season we were looking around thinking ‘we’ve got good players, we’ll be all right’ and in the end we weren’t.”

“Now this time around at Palace we have a dressing room full of international players, good players, but you can’t just say ‘we’ll be all right’.

“We have to make it happen.”

Andros should probably stop talking about how great things were at Newcastle when he left us.

Andros left when things were not good and he’ll never be able to change that.

Actions always speak louder than words (which are cheap) and if Andros pushed for a move back to Newcastle this summer we’re sure he can get back with Rafa a big fan and still in charge.

And then he can be a top player in our expected (huge) future successes under Rafa Benitez.

That would be the very best way to get over leaving Newcastle United  when we were in trouble – come back and help us be great again.

It’s going to happen.

3-0 bonus point. Been knackered all week and going to be a struggle to manage two games this week. As Rafa advises, take one at a time. Get there tomorrow and see what Wednesday brings. 🙂 Rafa knows best.

Sing, been in bed all flaming week, first day up today. Doesn’t take much to lay me up ffs. Not even sure what I did to lay me up. Still, as the big man says, one game at a time. Getting there tomorrow is my first concern. Don’t want to miss games now!! Not that I make a difference, it’s purely selfish reasons. 🙂

Anybody do the Sky Super 6? Big one tomorrow with a million quid jackpot. This is my best season ever. Up to 810 on the leader board despite missing a couple of weeks. Doesn’t sound great, but there’s about a million people play so I’m well happy being in the top thousand. Already won our mini league as nobody can catch me now. Get in. 🙂 If you don’t play it’s worth playing next season. Costs nowt and makes the results really interesting as they come in.

Can’t see us losing this week Charlie. Two must must must win game imo and I think we’ll be fine. Can’t play like Fulham again, it just won’t happen. Get the gd boosted again with a plus six or seven hopefully. Gone for all out attack with my bingo call and hopefully that’s what we’ll do.

Dont mind him as a player but what a bell end. Gets the opportunity to learn from one of the best managers in the game and earn a good wage and he goes to a team that is struggling with relegation. Will he leave if CP goes down? I dont bloody want him.

You say ”let’s win a match before thinking of going on a run.”

I guess you missed the recent wins away at Brighton and Huddersfield and the 2 other long winning sequences earlier this season.

You mustn’t keep letting your personal dislike of Rafa get in the way of the facts. Otherwise people might think you are some kind of an ignorant, cretinous blob. Oh wait.

When did i say i don’t like Rafa, the only thing i don’t like is some of results playing shite football, that dosent make me a Rafa hater, get your facts right Sherlock.

To be honest we have a big versatile squad but low on top quality shows how good Rafa is !

I hate when crowd boos when opposition player goes down and whistle is blown for an obvious forearm to the head and jaw. Especially when there is no advantage to the stoppage or time wasting possibility.

The truth is Rafa is one of only a handful of managers who could do the job, and frankly it’s probably only now having gained so much experience that he himself is capable. “Hardest job in football,” made even harder still because of our notorious owner. We are incredibly fortunate to have him, as is Ashley.

Shirebrook – if we win then you’ll have to tell your lad that he was a lucky mascot and he has to go to every home game between now and the end of the season. My first home game was back in the 70’s. Hope he has as much fun as I did back then!

Chicousa, right idea with the troll mate. Not worth rising to. Of course he must be right. Top of the table, most goals scored, least conceded, best away record. Bloody Rafa, not a clue eh? 🙂

3-0 was my prediction as well! I would love to see Gayle score a few goals today! But would also like to see Mitro come in and score! Or Murphy for that matter….really I am not too picky who scores as long as we win!

Seems like forever since the last game. Fancy one of the others to slip up again this week, when least expected. Hope Hoots makes it, just not at our expense.

I WISH I were able to go! Unfortunately I live on other side of the planet, so the commute would be a long one. 🙂
Should be able to get back over “the pond” sometime in next year or two and plan to make a few trips to SJP to watch them in their return to the Premier League!
