Both Brighton and Reading won their home games 3-1 last night – with Brighton beating Birmingham and Reading beating Blackburn Rovers.
Brighton have now gone 2 points ahead of Newcastle with 83 points from their 40 games played, with Newcastle playing tonight at home to Burton Albion.
Huddersfield play Norwich at home in the only two Championship games to be played in this round of games.
Reading are now in 3rd place on 73 points after 40 games played – 2 points ahead of the Terriers who have two games in hand.
These are the vital games of the season, so we hope that Newcastle can again deliver the goods tonight, but we will need another win against the Brewers to keep ahead of the Seagulls.
Here’s the current state of the top six in the Championship.

Comment #1So we are effectively looking at two teams for that late push or run… Reading and Huddersfield. Forget Brighton, in fact I’d rather they beat the challengers.
We need 10 points in 7 games. 1.5 points per game. Come on lads.

Comment #2Just looked at their games. Norwich will knock them both back. Both have very losable games. As do we, but we already have 8 more in the bank.

Comment #3Well I imagine Rafa will “manage the game” and we will defend and pass the ball around at the back and maybe we will attack if we go 1-0 down. Then everybody will say it is about getting back to the premier league.
Well can we please be entertained with attacking football, this get the fans going, atmosphere intensifies and we scote loads of goals, then I wake up and back to normal the crowd are nervous etc.
