The following policies should be taken into consideration before commenting:
An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Should be, penfold dont strike me as any kind of criminal mastermind, Owlheed though may be.
I think the people they are after is the players and agents ,anyone who benefits financially from player sales and avoids paying the tax on it through schemes, loopholes and hidden bank accounts belonging to their pets “ahem…harry…cou”

Comment #5Chelsea must be making good business on all them young players they loan out. Atsu only cost them £3m and has been on loan for 4 years, where he has flopped everywhere apart from us where he has been an impact player with mixed results. Yet at 25 years old his value is £6.5m. Despite doing nothing and being 25 his value doubled!! And that was before his average season in the championship. I imagine the likes of Solanke, Chalobah, Ake, Loftus-Cheek, Izzy Brown etc are all worth between 10-30m!

Thanks, Arsene.
Had him as player of the season, 106 points, 1st and Gayle top scorer!

Comment #10Hayden gets my vote and @ 10/1 hes todays golden child.
Imho we play better with clark back and him and mbemba should be allowed time to gel.
Atsu. Wow. Whats he worth and where do we sign.
That goal was mint and hes a grafter who looks proud to be ours.
The pressure is on hoots today yet tbh i dont care about the title (much).

Comment #11I really started to be impressed by Hayden when he scored a goal early in the season and then when he played DM in one game and was winning a lot of headers in front of the defence.
I’m afraid Warnock is on a list of no-class managers who I despise. Their first half tactic seemed to be to try to win throw-ins in our half so they could barge in on a long throw into the area. Awful!

Comment #12Atsu’s free kick was excellent -executed perfectly -one of the best I’ve seen. Wonderful technique and he was so calm/cool.
Having said that I do not think he’s done enough to be retained throughout this season. Lack of consistency.
No doubt a very good footballer, good control and technique but unfortunately not a PL player.

Comment #14Honestly tuff i would pay upto 10 million for him and believe there could be profit in a year or two if can buy him for 5ish.
Hes better younger fitter and cares more than gouff
To me its a no brainer who i would replace.
Is he premier standard ?
We could do a lot worse.

Comment #16Atsu signing depends on the budget Rafa will get surely if he gets a lot then I wouldnt bother with Atsu as we can get better but if its gonna be tight then for 5-6.5 mill ull probably not get better
Might actually do better next season as the ball will be on the ground more and not in the air where hes never going to get it. Problem is though i dont think he has linked up well with anyone this season tbh doesnt work with Dummett, Anita or Yedlin and never really got on the same wave length as our midfield for runs

Comment #18What exactly makes someone a ‘premier league player’? I keep seeing posters use this term but I’m not entirely sure what is meant by it. Are the likes of mariappa and Darren Gibson ‘premier league players’ since they do play there even though they lack any real quality?

Excellent point about the ‘premier league player’ tag
Players grow, adapt and change a lot under different coaches and in different squads / set ups.
Nothing is set in stone.
I prefer to believe in the skills of coaches and players and that given the right circumstances some players can improve a lot. It’s the job of the staff to make an assessment of the potential to do that.
In short, premier league players can be made, they aren’t born to it necessarily.

Comment #24Rafa will get what rafa wants imho
Fattie will back him within reason and he should get the sponsership kitty (minus tat directs slice)
By all accounts we are due transfers to be payed
Add that to the pot , also some will leave and that should add more if we sell to clubs who have cash.
Wages i think will be the biggest hurdle we will face next season.
We cannot afford to pay the stupid prices other clubs do so up and coming players like atsu etc will possibly stay.
Can anybody see us getting into a bidding war for the likes of gylfi siggisonv with everton @ 140 grand a week ?

Comment #27Voted Hayden. Atsus free kick was a joy to behold but he played no better than Perez. And if you look at the whole season… Maybe he needs a bit more polishing but tbh i don’t think his feet have the skill his head thinks they have. Squad player progressing if he works hard.
Colback was busy and looks much better when he tries to play constructively rather than this “breaking up play” myth that is bandied about like it’s some form of real sport science ha ha.

Comment #29So this is Rafa’s take on Atsu….
——————————————-
With the Magpies back in the Premier League they will be looking to bolster their squad, and Rafa Benitez has been speaking about his winger’s future.
After the game Benitez was asked if he was ready to sign Atsu permanently, he replied: “The future of a player does not change with one action or one goal.
“We know that he is a good player. We have to decide but I am really pleased with him.
——————————————-
So it could go either way, maybe depending on how much money Rafa gets of the fat man.

Comment #30The players at the centre of the raid by HMRC at Newcastle’s St James’ Park and training ground have been named in a report.
The Guardian claims that sources close to the investigation say that the raid relates to income tax fraud over transfer deals involving former Newcastle players Moussa Sissoko, Demba Ba, Sylvain Marveaux and Papiss Cisse.
HMRC carried out the raid early on Wednesday morning as they look into the business dealings of the club, focusing on payments made to agents which may have evaded £5m worth of income and national insurance tax.
Director of Newcastle Lee Charnley was arrested and questioned by police on Wednesday with regards to the investigation, but was released without charge later that day.
Marveaux, now at French side Lorient, was also arrested in his home country by authorities, and confirmed it was to do with the circumstances of his transfer to the Tyneside club.
He and Sissoko both joined Newcastle from French sides Rennes and Toulouse respectively, while Cisse left German side Freiburg and Ba made his way up north after leaving West Ham.
All four players named have departed St James’ Park, with only Sissoko remaining in England following his £30m move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Premier League side West Ham were also raided, while Chelsea, who signed Senegal strike Ba in 2013, confirmed they were contacted by HMRC with regards to the investigation.

Comment #33If the criteria to be a Premiership player is to be at a Premiership club, all of our players who weren’t signed in the summer must be Premiership players. IMO they all are capable of playing in the Prem, but surely the more relevant question is which are capable of playing regularly for a team solidly in the middle third of the league

Comment #34I said before the game I’d be a bit disappointed if we signed Atsu as I don’t think he’s done enough and as Rafa said one performance doesn’t or shouldn’t decide your future. Whatever happened to that Welsh player who scored the wonder goal at the Euros.

Comment #37I would say when people say he is premiership player, they mean he is a premiership quality player, one who definitely deserves to be there and won’t struggle in that league. there are many championship quality players in the top flight like Gibson, or Gouffran last year, players who are worse than many in the league below.
