There’s a report in the Northern Echo today that says that Brighton are still trying hard to persuade Chelsea and Tammy Abraham to make the loan move to the south coast club rather than to Newcastle.
From other local reports we thought he had said he would be coming to Newcastle for a season long loan and that the forms simply now had to be signed .
But it seems the fight with Brighton is still not over with Chris Hughton’s club having recently approached Chelsea with a late financial offer.
19 year-old Tammy Abraham – still not clear-cut he will join Newcastle
That offer presumably could yet see Brighton persuade the 19 year-old striker to join them on loan rather than Newcastle United.
If that happens it would be another blow for the Magpies, after we also thought we had Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Semedo tied up to a deal, only for Villarreal to move in late and sign him quickly, after the player had said he preferred to play in La Liga.
It seems that Newcastle have agreed the overall terms of the loan deal with Chelsea for Abraham and the Northern Echo report says Tammy is happy to move to Newcastle, after initially having some reservations.
But Brighton have not given up on him and they see Abraham as a vital player to help them survive next season in the Premier League.
The Northern Echo is reporting that further Chelsea talks with both Newcastle and Brighton are pending.
🙁
It just shows you how difficult the transfer window is this summer, but we do need a breakthrough soon.
Very soon.
What do you think?

Comment #1My thoughts are , if he’s not sure about playing for us and would prefer Brighton then let him have him . We’ve had these players before that hum and hah on about making their mind up , if he dosnt fancy it then let Brighton have him and move on to the next target . If he dosnt fancy the northeast then do be it .

Comment #4ToonFanAbroad – We were supposed to have agreed terms for him the other day then it all went quiet. This article give us some hope that it seems to be the case!

I thought that was the case, but that the same every transfer window for us.
Big hype for a few days then all the sudden nothing, doesn’t really bother me though, I’m used to it at this point.
Talking about players we were linked with, I would love to see that Ryad Boudebouz in black and white.

Comment #6It is a dark day when a player can’t decide between Newcastle and Brighton it should be an easy choice
