A Nice Bit Of Class From This Newcastle Youngster

We had high hopes of Haris Vuckic when he was signed in January of 2009 from Slovenian club Domzale, in what turned out to be a relegation season for the club.

Coming in as a 16 year-old he was one of the best young players in Europe at that time with some top clubs interested in him.

But he chose Newcastle and we thought we had a future top-class player on our hands, but he ended up playing only 19 first team games for Newcastle with a single goal.

Haris Vuckic while at Newcastle

That was mainly because of all the injuries he picked up during his time on Tyneside.

But Haris has learned not to burn his bridges and he’s sent a classy tweet thanking Newcastle fans for all they did to help him during the time he was at the club.

Haris has joined FC Twente in Holland where the play will suit his style better than in England – so it’s thumbs up from the 24 year-old.

We wish Haris all the best for his future.

Comments welcome.

We may be starting off slowly, only having one signing, he don’t have to gel though, the higher the quality the player, the easier it is to get them to integrate into a system, our problem until Rafa came is that we never had a system to get the players integrated into, the managers and coaches were as thick as bulls lugs, most of the players brought in were……..similar or not suitable for the positions we needed.
The difference this season, we will buy players for the positions we need to improve or are missing and we have a system which will be drummed into the players already here and those incoming .
As much as I hope we get players in soon, I don’t think it’s as critical to get them in before the first week back………as long as they are of better quality and can read the game better…….imho, game intelligence is as important as silky feet and a quick pair of heels.

Totally agree ginps, players on hols or even playing in tournaments and nobody is brining lots of signings, let’s see where we are mid July as that still gives players 2/3 weeks to integrate and I still think we will buy and buy adequately for this season then whoever owns us can crack on just my opinion though

I’m very excited about the 150 players we are bringing in. The dressing room will be a bit crowded but the competition for places will be fierce. Even the Belgian midget strikers are worried…..

Craig Coozey was on the ball with his info from inside the Jesmond Dene Hotel where he said he worked. But going public probably didn’t help his promotion prospects there…… or words to that effect

I had a dream the other night and saw Andy Carroll score a goal for NUFC, not sure if this was when he played for us or the future, I think if we would put a 12million bid in we could get him. Appears West Ham is after Girond of arsenal. Got to be worth a shout. Only concern is his injuries, I’m sure his medical will show any lasting damage.
    You heard it first here.

Wasn’t Penfold in China last week on club business? Or maybe visiting ting tong.

If so then we may start to see something happen.

    Or maybe not.

His excuse will be he contracted swine flu from too much dodgy Chicken Chow Mein and the Zika virus from eating deep fried mosquitoes for brekky!!

Other than that I’m rather optimistic!

    Night folks!

@ ShirebrookToon I agree, but can’t see us being able to afford him. Not sure if Carrol is a Rafa type of player. Carroll has just bought a house near Hexham. And maybe just maybe bearing in mind his past injuries that was the reason we were after Tammy. Even I can make rumours up. Dead easy lol

I’d love to see Andy back with us even if he only played 50% of the games.

be better than some other CF who played all of them.

I could be wrong but didn’t Satka play in one of the international games recently.

Another one along with Vukic who could still have made the grade imo.

With EPL and EFL teams paying huge amounts for players nowadays what are the likes of Gateshead and Hartlepool ( 🙁 ) paying, just curious!

Now, who might he be? 😕 🙄

    willowdog12

MICK QUINN HE HAS CHOOSE SWANSEA CITY AS THEY WILL GIVE HIM FIRST TEAM FOOTBALL THAT IS MORE THEN WHAT NEWCASTLE CAN DO AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THE SWANS JUST BECAUSE WE JUST MISSED BEING RELEGATED DOES NOT MEAN WE WILL BE DOING THAT AGAIN NEXT SEASON AS WE HAVE GOT A GOOD MANAGER IN PLACE NOW. NEWCASTLE HAVE LOST OUT ON ONE OR TWO PLAYERS THAT THEY WERE AFTER ANYWAY AND IT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER IN WHAT CLUB HE WISHES TO PLAY FOE ANYWAY.

Rafa has a had a good look at every player that was on the books when he arrived.
I trust his judgement on players implicitly
In fact to infer he and his coaching staff are so inefficient to have let one slip through their fingers , is a bit of an insult.

SBR used to say one of the worst aspects of being a manager was teling young men that they weren’t going to make the grade.

However with Rafa I’m sure he points out to the kids he lets go , that he himself didn’t have the physical or skill attibutes to get to the top. He just got on with playing 2nd division football and let his love of football help him concentrate on his coaching skills for the future.

Being released by a top club isn’t the end of the world.

Aidy Boothroyd had a very mediocre playing career yet could be writing himself into Football history today !

The 24th Costa Blanca cup involving 27 clubs and 5000 young footballers this July will for the first time have a team from the UK – Newcastle United foundation will be there funded by the club.
Any guesses who’s behind this ?

Ashley, Newcastle’s owner, stands by his pledge to back manager Benitez this summer with “every last penny” that the club generates through promotion and player sales.

And the billionaire, keen for the club to do some early business in the summer transfer window, is in regular contact with Charnley.

Ashley’s decision to look for potential investors in the club will NOT impact the planned summer spending.
