Newcastle In Talks And Moving Closer To An Excellent Deal For This Top Player

We reported this morning that Newcastle are still interested in signing Adama Toure of Middlesbrough – the speed merchant –  who we think would be a great signing for Newcastle and Rafa could really turn this lad into a top class player since the Spanish forward seems to have all the skills.

Middlesbrough are in desperate need of a goalkeeper and along with Reading and maybe Aston Villa there seems to be a bidding war going on for the impressive Karl Darlow – we hope there’s a bidding war going on for the Karl Darlow – who played so well for us last season in the Championship.

Boro bid an initial £5M for Karl and it was immediately turned down yesterday and that was a good move by Newcastle, because the former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper showed last season he was one of the best goalkeepers in England’s second division.

21 year-old former Barcelona winger Adama Traore – swap deal with Karl Darlow?

We’re still not sure why Rafa wants to sell Karl – but he does.

The Chronicle are reporting today the club is trying to arrange some kind of swap deal with Karl going one way and Adama Toure coming the other with some money also coming from Newcastle – we assume.

However, Karl’s value in the transfer must have risen signficantly over the last twelve months so that should help with the deal from Newcastle’s perspective.

It would seem to be a great deal if Newcastle can pull this one off and it seems to make a lot of sense for both clubs.

We were first linked with Traore towards the end of June and we were always impressed with Adama’s ability when we watched Boro play last season in the Premier League – he just needs some help with the direction of his play and Rafa can give him that.

It should help also that Benitez is Spanish and one of the best managers in the world and he could be a big draw for the 21 year-old forward.

The news is that the two clubs are now working on a deal and it would be great if we can pull this one off.

Karl Darlow – was great for us last season

If Karl does leave then Rafa has to bring in a top goalkeeper who would probably become the number one goalkeeper at Newcastle and it could well be we could see Pepe Reina in the Newcastle goal in the first game of the season on Sunday, 13th August against Tottenham Hotspur at home.

The game is being televised around the world live – not a bad start to the season for us as we return to the Premier league – especially if we can win the game against the Premier League runners-up of last season.

That would be some start to the season.

Howay the Lads!!

Another day another link…….. all to placate the many thousands who’ve committed their hard-earned cash to a season ticket. Let’s hope that Ashley realises he’s got 50,000 or so paying customers to please!

    According to Mark Douglas
“There is no exact amount placed on it but Newcastle’s budget is probably nearer the £70million mark than the £150million that was being quoted and if Benitez is looking for six or seven, it’s no surprise that the current targets are loans or pitched at around the £10-15million mark.”

Traore always seemed a bit of a headless chicken when I’ve seen him – he’s fast but end product is awful 8 times out of ten

If we get traore ,great,if we lose darlow, disgraceful, why get rid of a talented keeper who is only going to get better.
Ashley playing a dangerous game once again, too few signings with not much preparation time once again ,we are second rafters in the transfer market once again, another relegation fight looms ahead, could be a titanic fight come the end of the season to stay up.

Loic Remy is available for 1.8m. Surely that is a no brained? I know he was injured a lot last year but proved he could do it when he was with us the last time…

I can understand the need for someone with real pace like Traore, but if we sign him I’d also like us to get Grosicki from Hull, a more intelligent winger.
That would give us more options out wide than we’ve had in ages, and perhaps Traore and Atsu could be used more as subs with Ritchie and Grosicki starting.
Darlow for me has great reflexes but his command of the box is terrible and communication with the defence non-existent.
Great shot stopper but his all round game is just not good enough.
He needs to play regularly to improve so it makes sense for both parties if he goes to be honest.

In pre season I would love to see Ritchie move to a number 10 and Mbemba along Shelvey as DM. Ritchie is very clever, very close control, great work ethic and can spot a pass well and due to his lack of pace the no 10 role I think he would be perfect for.

Hopefully get Traore in, with him,Atsu and Aarons give us actual pace out wide that we haven’t had in years. Traore and Yedlin on the right would have to be the quickest right side to a team in the Prem and most of the world. At least we’d be very exciting to watch especially if we could add Batshuayi to the mix. Dreams I know.

Said I fancied Traore last season, but also pointed out he’s far from the finished article. Rafa might well be able to coach the headless chicken out of him – hence the suggestion – which would produce a very dangerous winger.
His pace is phenomenal but his end product is questionable – er, very. 🙂 He is still very young though and a bit of patience could pay off.
As much as I like Darlow I can see the reasoning behind selling him. I can see reason he might prefer to leave as well, with Elliot ahead of him and Woody waiting for his chance. Woody is the future and we can’t leave him hanging too long or we might lose him.
    Cheers Springy! 🙂

He’s not the finished article but has a lot of potential, will give us some much needed pace. Where better for him to learn than under rafa

Interesting article on Adama Traore: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39695746

‘According to the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), the 21-year-old Spanish winger is the best player in Europe – when it comes dribbling.

By dividing the number of dribbles attempted by the percentage of successful ones the CIES has come up with a list of the top 100 dribblers in Europe’s top five leagues.

Traore tops the rankings ahead of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, while Barcelona forward Messi comes in sixth, just behind Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. Barcelona forward Neymar is fourth – but Real Madrid’s Ronaldo doesn’t even make the list.’

Traore, Atsu, Yedders and Aaron’s. If we don’t win anything at football we can always enter the Olympic Games with the Toon Army 4X100 metre relay team. Least this lot might not drop the Bayton! 🙂

I am all for Adama coming in but why don’t we swap them Krul instead of Darlow. Darlow is a very talented keeper and stull young, he can only get better. Krul should be the one to depart as he is in decline and older. I bet Boro would be interested in Krul to if they were offered him.

Lost count of the number of dribblers with no end product. 10 a penny. We can do without a headless chicken like Traore. The laughable thing is Boro are asking three times what they’ve offered for Darlow. I’d think they got the better deal if it was a straight swap
