The season long loan move to Bolton Wanderers has been worked out so Adam Armstrong will be off to the Championship club next season trying to score as many goals as he can for the Trotters.
And Yoan Gouffran has decided to join Turkish club Goztepe on what is a three-year deal and it was a much better offer than the one year deal Rafa had offered him.
We have also agreed a fee with Norwich to take Jacob Murphy to the Toon.
Adam Armstrong has joined Sky Bet Championship side Bolton Wanderers on a half-season loan deal.

Comment #1Goofy was another player who struggled under a string of managers ranging from bamg average to tripe. Given a run in the side in an atracking role, he did alright. Good luck to him.

Comment #4After Murphy is sealed and official I would really love to see us go all out for Chicharito and/or Batshuayi. I really liked the look of that winger Adama Traore of Boro so exciting to watch him blast past opponents. After such a sluggish start Rafa may yet pull it off and improve the squad on every department. Lets not lose momentum now and keep the ball rolling towards our next target.

Comment #6At#4 Adama Traore could not agree with you more, he’s fast a shite and has the skill, just need a manager like Rafa to hone in his skills a little. Why have we not tried to get Chambers I thought we were linked with him, talk about getting a player on the cheap with Prem experience.

Comment #7Borough just signed Britt Asombalonga for 15 Million, maybe this was the player they wanted so Adama Traore can join Newcastle.

Comment #8So is that it with wingers now. Ritchie, Atsu, hopefully Aaron and now this lad. Be very interesting to see what reception Townsend gets when he turns up with his new team.

Comment #9I think that’s it for wingers US. Now time to strengthen the defence and a striker. An upgrade on Colback would be good but I think that might have to wait, he has got bags of PL experience and we will need it.

Comment #13I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t to many or any even any further signings. If Rafa is satisfied with what we have then he might well play the longer game and if necessary make a couple more in January after seeing what’s needed.
By the way the correct way to shout someone down is to.
WRITE IN CAPITALS WHILST SHOUTING AT THE KEYBOARD.
Hope that advice is helpful.

Comment #17There was quite a few players who struggled under managers pre-Rafa. There were probably a few Gouffrons who would have done better if they’d been with us with him in charge.

Comment #18I said earlier that the odds on Kieran Gibbs joining West Brom had suddenly shortened since Yesterday and now its being reported he’s joining them. Maybe there actually is some truth in us going or Batshuayi seen as we’re now favourites to get him.

Rafa has more ambition than to fight relegation and that’s what our current squad would be doing. Not a chance hed be happening going into the PL season as is

Comment #28With Murphy’s signing, my guess is that we are done with buying wingers now. At least until Jan. Even excluding Aarons, between Ritchie, Atsu and Perez we have enough wingers/wide players to rotate between and test out until Jan. And I can see Aarons playing in s 3-5-2 if Rafa decides to go that route.
And while I agree with everyone else that we need another good striker brought in, I strongly feel that CDM is where we are most lacking right now. We absolutely need Shelvey as he is the most creative in our entire lineup but his style also requires a solid CDM backing him up. While I can see Diame playing alongside him in the easier (atleast on paper) games, I don’t think he’s the right choice alongside someone like Shelvey. We need someone of the Vierra mold that can tackle, intercept and turn the ball around successfully. With due respect to him, I don’t see Hayden as being that person that can control the midfield in the premier league.
I really think this is where Mbemba can fit in nicely. In our last season in the prem league he was our best defender and more pertinently his game was particularly good in a) interceptions and b) tackles, the two key areas for a CDM. He’s also got enough pace for a CDM. Nonetheless, another solid CDM like Fernando would be a great signing for us if Mbemba doesn’t work out.

Looking at the squad in Ireland many of them have EPL experience, a lot of them are experienced in other leagues and there are not that many sick notes. I think that there are likely to be less injuries under Rafa as well.
The 27-man squad for Newcastle’s Irish training camp is: Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot, Freddie Woodman, Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Jesus Gamez, Massadio Haidara, Grant Hanley, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune, Jamie Sterry, DeAndre Yedlin, Rolando Aarons, Christian Atsu, Jack Colback, Mohamed Diame, Victor Fernandez, Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie, Henri Saivet, Jonjo Shelvey, Callum Roberts, Siem De Jong, Dwight Gayle, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Daryl Murphy, Ayoze Perez.

Comment #30Must be soul destroying for these players – your chance of stardom and the newspaper report
“Triallist B nearly equalised when Triallist A made a good run and set him up 10 yards out, but Harker blocked his shot, and when the ball came back in from the right, Triallist A headed just wide” (from tonight Darlo game)

Just seen the Rafa interview on transfer centre.
Said that we were 30 mill in profit from last season. And how we didn’t spend anything in January.
He was also told by The Fat controller that there was more than enough of a transfer kitty to cover fees and wages and Mashley needs to honour his word
